My poppy pin. Made in 2017 to honour those who fell at Passchendaele in 1917, like my Great Uncle. Made from the brass from a British shell fuse found on the battlefield and the colour infills contain dirt from the battlefield.
We're the local Sparrow feeders, well they are an endangered species. Just a few that visited today. We also get Blue Tits, Great Tits, Starlings, Blackbirds, Robins and Wood Pigeons.
This is what I like to remember, smiling faces. I'm the little one not smiling, around 1957. My Mum's Mum, Dad, Mum and Mum's Dad. All passed on now. Lovely people. Happy memories.
A sad day. Yesterday evening my Mum, Edith, passed away at home after struggling with dementia for over 2.5 years. She lived for 94 years and 7 months. Not a nice thing to witness as she didn't recognise people for over a year and was immobile most of that time.
We've had our eldest Daughter and her dog Luna down since Wednesday. Yesterday evening we went to The Haymarket in Basingstoke to see Sh!t-Faced Shakespear's Romeo and Juliet. The most non-PC adult humour show I've seen in years. At least one of the cast is 'inebriated'. Absolutely brilliant. 🤣😂

Lots of small birds on our feeders. Sparrows, Great Tits and this Blue Tit right now. Robins, Wrens and Blackbirds on the grass.
Just uploaded the second track from my (in progress) 10th album. Two pieces in 10 days! I let my Strat sing at the end of this one.

Two very handy and comprehensive guitar case books from the early 1990s. I wish these were around when I picked up the guitar in 1968. Instead it was Bert Weedon's "Play in a Day".
First track off of my latest "From the Man Cave 8" album, "Comparison is the thief of joy". My 10th album so far.
An instrumental post-rock piece...

Brewing day. A barley malt and wheat malt English style ale with Endeavour hops (English grains and hops). Estimated ABV 5.5%. Using a converted and repurposed boiler (by me) owned by my late son-in-law and donated by my eldest daughter. New 1/2" BSP tap and temperature probe tube.
Bimble back from visiting my dear ol' Mum yesterday. J pillion. Lovely day for October. I added an edit of my tune "It's gonna be a good day" as the background sound. Her dementia is a horrible thing, however music, motorcycling and positive thinking are good therapy.
Wadworth Old Timer is back in bottles. 5.8% cooler weather ale. In a jug from the 1970s that miraculously survived 5 house moves. I used to drink this on draught in the Millstone pub, Old Basing from the 1980s in Autumn and Winter until it was discontinued.
Eldest son's woof is properly chilling out. Lovely to have a dog in the house again, even just for a day. Nearly 3 months without one in 45 years!

On this day in history. 21st September 1915 Stonehenge is for bought for £6,600 by Cecil Chubb. Cecil attended an auction in Salisbury, England, reportedly to buy furniture. Instead, he bought Stonehenge, the mysterious Neolithic monument located in southern England. His winning bid was 6,600 British pounds.
Back in 2005 I recorded this in the Cakewalk Software DAW. A few years ago I converted the project to the Cubase DAW format and last week UAD offered me a very good price on their Sound City Studios plugin that emulates the sound of that famous room. So here I am, playing and singing as if I was in that room. 😉
