The St John’s-UConn games are going to be awesome again. Huskies with a very impressive early-season win over Michigan tonight.

Tough to judge what was more impressive: the 28-0 run (over 9 minutes) or holding NJIT to 19 first half points.
Iona improves to 2-0 leading into a treacherous 4 game in 9 day stretch all on the road.

GAELS CRUISE TO A W IN THE HAC
It was an all around team effort as 10 different Gaels scored. Martin, Sadiku, and Kevon led the way, each reaching double figures in the scoring column.
Up Next: The Gaels take on St. John's at Madison Square Garden Sunday at Noon!

Once a staple of college basketball; this Season there are only EIGHTEEN "4-Year" Scholarship players in the Power Conferences in NCAA Men's basketball.

The Bonnies travel to Koessler Saturday for the 174th chapter of SBU’s oldest rivalry. Bona leads Canisius 105-68 all-time and has won the last two.
Mike MacDonald, who led the Griffs from 1997-2006, returns seeking his first triumph as Bona’s lead man.

Iona Gaels are 2-0! It was not close: Iona 72, NJIT 49!
Scoring was spread out: 6 guys with 7 to 10 points - glad to see team sharing ball early in season.
It was important for Gaels to start out 2-0 because next 3 games are tougher: St. John's at MSG, at Fordham & at Hofstra.

Exciting opening win for Iona over Vermont. Iona gets bucket w/ less than second left for win!
This is different Iona team from last year - more gritty, tough & better defensively!
2 stars for Iona: Kevon Vanderhorst with winning shot & 27 pts & Kosy Akametu w/ 18 pts! GO GAELS!

Watched Western Carolina at UNC for Mike Malone debut. UNC got 80-72 win but Tar Heels need work!
- Out-rebounded 41-32 (WC got 13 Off Rebs). They spent $20 million on UNC - can't happen vs mid-major.
- Not great from 3 (9 for 30, 30%) & not enough attacking rim.
- D was shaky.

An elite offense meets an elite defense for a historic season opener ⚖️!
Purdue finished No. 2 nationally in offensive efficiency last season, while Gonzaga ranked No. 1 in defensive efficiency.
It’s the first time this century teams coming off top-two finishes in those respective categories meet to start the season.
