This is why collectors love Ant-Man 🥹 Back in 2022, after his classmates left his yearbook nearly empty, 12-year-old Brody Ridder received a personal FaceTime call, an encouraging letter, and a signed Ant-Man helmet from Paul Rudd. The actor reminded him that ‘things get better’ and assured him he was one of the people who thought he was the coolest kid on planet Earth. And it reminds us, as collectors, why we love collecting memorabilia from our favorite athletes, singers, and celebrities: it brings us happiness and helps us get through another day so we can collect more. If you love collecting memorabilia, listen up @Collectibles.com is where over 7 million collectors connect daily, and if you aren't on our app, you are missing out! 📸 Cassandra Cooper (FB)

Rockstar handed out real Liberty City keys to gamers 🔑 In 2008, after GTA IV dropped, Rockstar hosted a challenge for Social Club members: hit 100% completion within two weeks to receive a special collectible prize. Players who pulled it off were inducted into the “100% Club” and got mailed an actual Key to Liberty City, tucked inside a velvet-lined case. Today, those keys are some of the rarest pieces of GTA memorabilia out there, with some going for $2,000+ on the secondary market. Love collecting video game memorabilia? Sports cards and gold have a lot in common 👀 SCARCITY: the flaw of fiat currency as a store of value: a central bank can print more. The best cards can't be reprinted. There'll never be another original-run 1952 Mantle or T206 Honus Wagner, and the surviving population of high-grade vintage and low-pop modern cards is fixed and shrinking. That built-in rarity, the second pillar of the Collector's Lens, is exactly what makes gold, and arguably Bitcoin, function as money. A finite supply against permanent demand is the engine of value. He is the most hated collector in the world 😳 In 2015, Martin Shkreli became internationally known as the most hated man in America after raising the price of a life-saving AIDS medication by 5,000 percent overnight. That same year, he placed a winning bid of over $2 million to secure the only existing copy of Wu-Tang Clan’s “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin,” a 31-track double album the group had spent six years recording in secret. Wu-Tang created only one copy, packaged in a hand-crafted silver & nickel case with a 174-page leather-bound book, and sold it under the condition that it could never be commercially released. RZA called it “the Mona Lisa of Wu-Tang albums.” Shkreli called it his living room table piece and occasionally streamed it online just to prove that he had it. He also claimed to own an unreleased copy of Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V, an album fans had been waiting years for, and streamed snippets online for fans to hear. Lil Wayne had sold his Bugatti Veyron to a third-party buyer, who found a CD of the unreleased album along with other personal belongings inside the car. The CD was then sold directly to Shkreli. In 2017, Shkreli was convicted of securities fraud and sentenced to seven years in prison. The government ordered him to forfeit over $7.4 million in assets, including the Wu-Tang album, a Picasso painting, and an Enigma machine. In 2021, the US government sold “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin” to cryptocurrency collective PleasrDAO for $4 million. The Carter V was listed among the assets to be forfeited but was never recovered. This kid took his Pokemon obsession to another level on Halloween. Instead of dressing up as a Pokemon for Halloween like normies, he became a Pokemon card vending machine. The scariest thing in the world for collectors is when it has no Pokemon cards inside 😭 The DIY costume even lights up, so they had to take it to a real Pokemon vending machine to meet its twin. The rarest Stephen Curry card may be lost forever 😭 The legendary "lost card" is the 2009-10 Topps Chrome Stephen Curry 1-of-1 SuperFractor Rookie Card. It is widely considered the ultimate "white whale" and the most famous missing card in modern sports hobby history. The card has never been seen publicly, graded, or put up for auction in the 17 years since its release. Because Curry went on to become the greatest shooter of all time and a global icon, the card's estimated value has skyrocketed into the eight-figure range ($10+ million) if it is ever found. When Topps released the 2009-10 flagship basketball set, sports card collecting wasn't the massive, social-media-driven industry it is today. Card "breaking" streams didn't exist, so someone could pull a 1-of-1 card without the entire internet finding out or without them knowing what they pulled. It could be in a sealed box; it could have been thrown away, or forgotten about in a shoebox. Wherever it is, we hope it's in pristine condition for it to break auction records as an ungraded card. Who remembers the Cabbage Patch Kids chaos? 👀 In 1983, Cabbage Patch Kids became so popular that parents lined up for hours hoping to bring one home for their kids. Stores struggled to keep up with demand, and the scramble for the dolls led to fights, stampedes, and even injuries. Their popularity also inspired Topps to introduce Garbage Pail Kids in 1985, turning the dolls’ recognizable faces into trading card characters. More than 40 years later, that same hype has made its way into vintage Pokemon cards, like the 2002 P.M. Japanese 1ST ED. Gyarados-Holo Mysterious Mountains in our Pokemon Ruby Pack. Roger Federer is one of the greatest tennis players alive! Much like Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Tom Brady, Federer is considered a "blue-chip" asset in sports collecting. His memorabilia holds its valuation exceptionally well because his legacy is tied to the historical transformation of modern tennis, insulating his market from short-term fluctuations. The stats speak for themself: • Hard Court: 71 titles • Grass Court: 19 titles • Clay Court: 11 titles That's why we added an $870 signed 4x6" Rolex Photo Card by Roger Federer with a JSA certificate Want to pull his photo card? We have proof that sports and Pokemon cards are a great store of value! In 2022, Logan Paul bought a PSA 10 Pikachu Illustrator, the holy grail of Pokémon cards, for $5.275 million. In February 2026, he sold it at auction for $16.5 million. That's the most expensive trading card ever sold, and roughly triple his money in under four years! That's not a lottery ticket. It's a store of value acting like gold or blue-chip art because of the pop culture relevance of Pokemon. Sports cards tell the same story at the top. A 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle sold for $12.6 million at Heritage Auctions in August 2022, and a T206 Honus Wagner went for $7.25 million at Goldin that same year. The best cards don't just hold value across generations; they compound it. Let us know your take on this in the comments 👇 Store your money in sports or Pokemon cards? Imagine finding a 2001 Pokemon booster pack at Target 🎯 A Pokémon collector made an incredible discovery after finding a sealed Neo Revelation booster pack hidden underneath a shelf at Target. Released in 2001, the pack had sat there for over two decades. Despite the packaging being covered in dirt and dust, it’s an incredible piece of Pokémon history.
