🔝 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗔𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗽 @Colt_Ward30 (Defiance HS) 📝 Report: Colt Ward has made one of the more dramatic climbs on the Ohio 2028 board, jumping from No. 18 all the way to No. 6, a 12-spot surge that puts him firmly in the conversation as one of the elite players in his class. The bat leads this profile, with a 102.9 max exit velocity and a swing that consistently produces hard contact through the middle of the field from the left side.. the kind of hitter-first tools that get evaluators excited before you even factor in the position. And the position only adds to it, because a 6-3, 195-pound left-handed hitting catcher is about as rare a commodity as prep baseball produces, and Ward checks that box as well as anyone in the 2028 class. He backs it up athletically too, running a 7.1 laser-timed 60 and posting pop times in the 1.91-1.99 range that show the actions and athleticism you want from a long-term catching prospect. The profile is already elite, and with physical projection still ahead of him, the ceiling here is as high as anyone in Ohio's 2028 class.
