As I finished residency I thought I’d write & expose toxic work culture/ resident mistreatment But I was SO tired & wanted to move on. I was told not to burn bridges Now a resident in the same program has died by suicide & I wonder if speaking out would have made a difference

While we can all agree on this, until we solve the doctor shortage by increasing medical school and residency slots, someone needs to be available for overnight issues. Emergencies happen 24/7. If there were enough docs at all levels we could do shifts like nurses etc
