The BRILLIANT @danielwarrenart is launching his all new series, CHAINKATA. Issue #1 is on order this weekend. I’m privileged to have a variant cover celebrating this achievement.

I was on a mission these last two weeks, I’ve been away from personal experiences/appearances too long! Maryland, you blew my socks off! So great to visit with all of you!

As I’m catching up and reading posts, the most important aspect of the comments is that folks never felt “rushed”. My priority is to make everyone feel like they had time, I get to have hundreds of conversations that play back in my head. Thank you to everyone who made this east coast swing so memorable!

None of my posts are ever about money. I focus on the credits to creators. My contributions as a creator/writer are what turned New Mutants around, shaped an entire era that followed. Marvel’s credit situation has always been murky, editors and others looking to grift, it goes all the way back to their beginning. That’s why, after doing above and beyond what is expected, I left to create a universe of my own. Thank you for following me wherever I wander.

Every time I create a story, create a comic book, there is only one motivation. ENTERTAIN. That’s it. I don’t consider the critical element in the least. Will this entertain. Same with the content I seek out and pursue. Does it entertain me? That’s it.

I’m gonna share a thread of advice for creators. I’ve been around the block and I’ve seen some stuff. Yes, yes, I’m controversial, I’m aware, but this is wisdom you can apply to your own career. Most of this is for artists as our commitment to a page takes longer, consumes more time. It’s okay to say NO. Turn down assignments.
