A cleaner, greener future is possible.
Four stills from a video featuring Mayor of London Sadiq Khan discussing improvements to London’s waterways. The images show the Mayor speaking beside a waterway, a beaver swimming and a green riverside landscape surrounded by trees and buildings. Yellow subtitles read: “Most Londoners pass our waterways without thinking much about them. But what if they were cleaner? Greener? Better for wildlife? That’s exactly what we’re delivering in London. Because nature needs a helping hand right now.”

Over £400,000 awarded to community energy saving projects! We’ve given a share of £400,000 to 20 local community energy projects through our Southwark Community Energy Fund. These projects will help to tackle fuel poverty and save local organisations money in energy costs, helping make the borough affordable, safe and green. An estimated 40 tonnes of carbon will be saved per year from the six capital projects we're funding, and a further 300 tonnes could be saved if all feasibility projects progress to capital works. Projects receiving funding in this round include the Unicorn Theatre, the Brunel Museum, Haddon Hall Church, 1st Place Children and Family Hub, Westminster House Youth Club and more! Find out more on our website by searching for Southwark Community Energy Fund, or read more on our newsroom.
