On Tuesday we hosted our website vibe code workshop in the Comms People community. It ended up being the perfect format for Claude Code newbies and was a safe place to address the tough and also the under-represented (yet incredibly important!!) questions that come up when working with AI.
💡 In the end, the workshop wasn't really about websites. It was about what happens when comms consultants stop waiting for the right tool to exist and just build it.

'cringe' is the most common reason consultants don't like to sell their services. But the cringe is the point because it’s the moat.
Every founder you admire got over the cringe. Every consultant with a full pipeline got over the cringe. Every person who’s built something sustainable learned to be visible even when it felt uncomfortable.
Your ability to tolerate that discomfort is directly proportional to your ability to build a business.

Quick test: If you lost your job tomorrow, how many people would reach out because they already know what you're capable of?
The people who share their frameworks, their thinking, their approach to solving problems are the ones who never have to cold-pitch. They're the ones founders want to hire before they even know they're available. They built their reputation while they had the stability of employment. Not after.
Here's a playbook for building credibility that outlasts your job: katieboysen.substack.com/p/y…
🗞️ Comms People Friday Debrief: Nov 21, 2025
What to watch, what to pitch, and what to fix this week in the world of comms consulting.
🫖 The tea: Leadership accountability just became a performance metric — and if you're not helping your clients track it, you're already behind.
Here's what went down in today's Friday Debrief that your clients will be asking you about next week:
1️⃣ New executive comp data just dropped — and it's about to change how CEOs get measured (and fired)
2️⃣ Sequoia's leadership shake-up is sending signals. Smart founders are reading between the lines (and smarter consultants are helping them tell stories aligned to this topic).
3️⃣ Which major 2025 conferences quietly opened speaker submissions this week
4️⃣ The uncomfortable questions every consultant needs to ask themselves as they head into 2026
5️⃣ Critical actions for consultants who are deep in client work and forget work on their own business.
If you're not in the room where this is happening, you're guessing. Join the CP gang to get all the deets: community.commspeople.co/lan…
