We trust green way too easily. That verified checkmark? It’s not a security guarantee—it’s a false comfort. This month, we’re exposing telecom’s biggest blind spot. It starts with the Green Lie. #TelecomFraud #AttestationA #1Route #CallValidation #TheGreenLie

I saw the beautiful 4K IMAX version of Princess Mononoke last night… then got out and saw this shit. Do you morons truly value art so little that it’s just a filter for your profile pic? Pay a fucking artist and make something real you gremlins.

After four years of screaming about the cyber slavery crisis to any editor, diplomat, official or international law enforcement agent that would listen, it’s incredible to see such extensive coverage on the crisis in SEA in both @BBCWorld and @TheEconomist.
However, it’s deeply depressing that after this time and publicity the situation is worsening. Not just in Southeast Asia but several other fragile regions.
Secondly it’s absolutely incredible how Cambodia and Laos have managed to play a truly impressive PR campaign to the point where the general discussion now mostly focusses on those compounds over the myanmar border.
No, Zhao Wei and the Golden Triangle Special Economic zone/Kings Romans, have not stopped. They have consolidated control and condensed active compounds to smaller areas. In Cambodia, the situation has, in no way, improved. It is worsening by the week. No serious compounds are shut down and remain so. No bosses have been arrested. The military , police and top levels of government not only provide protection but can actively run these criminal operations. It’s growing throughout the country. You hear about it less because some of the main groups orchestrating this fraud and slavery crisis have become incredibly litigious. Editors are not taking the risk to publish. They are winning. These criminal groups are even sponsoring European football teams.
We will be releasing a series of detailed reports on this. The evidence is astounding. We can’t let the triads PR teams run the narrative on this global crisis.

i would pay a telco employee more than $300 to not sim swap me
T-Mobile Staff Receive SMS Messages Offering $300 Per SIM Swap - buff.ly/3JBNnre
Telcos have often played down the significance of breaches of employee data. They should be talking about controls to stop employees colluding with fraudsters.

Telecom is a far-reaching, unbelievably intricate landscape. The only way we can properly control it and the risks it faces is by working together, as Timo Vainionpaa illustrates in this quote.

Typically these types of numbers, which are often brand damage guesses, are attempts to draw attention so InfoSec is taken seriously. What they do is the exact opposite and damage our industry’s reputation.
Per Manny Rivelo, #cybercrime will cost the industry $10.5T. #Cybersecurity has to change to keep up. #weareforcepoint

Really worth clicking through though, great report from the @IoT_SF and @copperhorseuk. It focusses on the specific issue but fascinating to consider the sectors and brands taking IoT security most/ least seriously.
