Trump's corruption and his cost-of-living crisis are out of control. His Republican enablers in Washington have looked the other way — I won't. I will do everything in my power with @housebudgetdems to make Trump's administration answer for it all.

Last year, Trump and Republicans cut health care for millions of Americans and raised premiums for millions more, just so billionaires could get even more tax breaks. I'll fight like hell to reverse these cruel cuts.

Trump promised Americans a "golden age." It's a golden age for his billionaire donors — but everyone else is paying more and getting less. He's cutting your health care, raising your taxes with his tariffs, and stealing from the poor to fund tax breaks for billionaires.

It turns out the economic policies from a president who managed to bankrupt a casino are a disaster for our economy.
Another day, another hot inflation report. Business inflation surged in September to 6.3% (!). The expectation was 5.4%. Every category of business inflation was hot, even after stripping away energy costs. It's inevitable that companies will pass some of these costs along to consumers. It's yet another reason this fight against inflation is likely to be longer than anyone wants. Business (wholesale) inflation: 6.3% Consumer Inflation: 3.7%

Trump has been in office for nearly two years, and all he has to show for it is broken promises. Americans are fed up with his disastrous policies, which have made basic necessities more expensive.
"Trump has no one to blame but himself for his broken promises and economic failures, and the American people know it." Ranking Member @CongBoyle on today's inflation data:

The President seems to think that your tax dollars are just a slush fund he can use on his personal vanity projects. You don't need to be a legal scholar to understand this is plain wrong. I applaud this decision, which puts an end to some of Trump's obvious abuse.

Heartbroken by reports of a horrific mass shooting in Erie, Pennsylvania this morning. My prayers are with the community and families as they recover from this tragedy.

Devastated by the shooting of two Philly police officers and news that one of them has died. Our police officers risk their lives every day to ensure that our city is safer. We owe them and their families unending gratitude. My prayers are with them and their families.

Donald Trump’s war in Iran has sent prices skyrocketing. Trump could lower costs today by ending this reckless war. Instead, he’s aiding Russia and betraying Ukraine in a desperate attempt to temporarily bring prices down.
NEW: President Trump says that Russian President Vladimir Putin will “immediately” release hundreds of thousands of tons of diesel fuel onto the global market. It was not immediately clear how this would work, given wide-ranging sanctions that have been applied to Russia since its invasion of Ukraine. nbcnews.com/business/energy/…

Republicans are unbelievable hypocrites on the national debt. They cut revenue by trillions so billionaires can get massive tax breaks. Any serious plan to address the debt has to include reversing these shortfalls. wsj.com/politics/policy/u-s-…

We should take the debt seriously, but that means being honest about how we got here. Spending alone didn't get us to $40 trillion. Decades of tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations have cost taxpayers trillions. Read my full op-ed in @FT:

Trump withdrew funding for life-saving health research, including programs at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania. Not only is this illegal, but it's immoral. My Congressional Power of the Purse Act would stop this callous power grab.
"In Philadelphia, these cuts threaten lifesaving work, along with good-paying jobs and one of the most important drivers of our regional economy." Ranking Member @CongBoyle on @USGAO finding the Trump Administration illegally withheld health research funding:

Trump isn't fooling anyone with his new $5,000 check stunt. I haven't seen a dime from the DOGE or tariff checks he promised over a year ago. In fact, he's done worse than give us nothing — he's costing Americans more with his tariff taxes and Iran war.

Everyone knows Trump's agenda has been a disaster for the economy. But we can start getting costs down in spite of him. As the lead Democrat on @housebudgetdems, I'm committed to overturning his costly tariff taxes and stopping funding for his moronic war in Iran.

Regular Americans are working hard and getting less, as inflation eats away at their earnings. This is a flashing red light for the health of our economy.
The financial pain is real: Wage growth fell to 3% (y/y) in September. That's the lowest in 5 years. Wage growth: 3% Inflation: ~3.4% Inflation has eaten up all wage gains for the average worker since April. Many people are having to make hard choices about what to buy and what to skimp on right now. Yes, consumption is still strong (mainly due to wealthier Americans and people dipping into savings or credit cards), but a lot of people have to think hard about every dollar they spend. Notable: Wages only ticked up 0.1% in the month of September. That was the weakest monthly gain since December 2025.

President Trump doesn't have any excuse, and Americans are out of patience. The reality is he's been a terrible president for the economy. Americans deserve leaders in Washington who care about getting our economy back on track.

Under Donald Trump, the dream of homeownership is becoming further out of reach for too many Americans. I'm willing to work with anyone who's serious about lowering costs for families and getting our national debt under control.
