I'm sure there are still good churches that do this without preaching vitrol, but I also remember the atmosphere changing as I got older. By the time I was a teen, I stopped wanting to go to church because it had become "we're right, they're wrong".

Just go. Go to the back ...and then just stay back there.
Or slip out through other doors and carry on with whatever you were doing before.
I may have done this when I was a stocker at grocery store, years ago. If it wasn't on the shelves, we don't have it.
I'd tell them as much and if they insisted, I'd go back and just start stocking the dairy section from behind the shelves and carry on.
