USE INCANDESCENT OVER LED LIGHT BULBS (USUALLY) This study gives you one of the reasons why... All incandescent and halogen light bulbs contain infrared light. The vast majority of LED light bulbs do not contain infrared light but contain a lot of blue light. Bright blue light creates photo-oxidative damage that leads to retina cell death. Infrared light protects and regenerates retina cells exposed to blue light. So when you surrounded all day by blue light heavy and infrared free LED and screen lighting, your eyes degrade faster. This gives you bad eye health and also circadian rhythm disruption which accelerates cancer and fatness creation. From the 2011 study: "Near Infrared photobiomodulation is protective against bright-light-induced retinal degeneration, even when NIR treatment is applied after exposure to light. This protective effect appears to involve a reduction of cell death and inflammation. Photobiomodulation (red and infrared light exposure) has the potential to become an important treatment modality for the prevention or treatment of light-induced stress in the retina." So go out and get some incandescent lights to replace your LEDs (except there's now one brand of LED which includes infrared light see my article below). Turn on a red light machine to blend the light coming from blue heavy leds. Use blue blockers and red lights at night. (See all my favorites below).
