The U.S. blockade has hit doctors and the healthcare system in Cuba especially hard this past year. Medicine shortages and blackouts make for a quotidian crisis.

In the 🙃 world of FFG, it's the government that holds the people to account. A 'false narrative' is when it's obvious to everyone that a minister is lying to them. And if the government gets our soldiers killed, a way will be found to blame those who tried to stop them.
False narratives about Triple Lock reform are inaccurate and irresponsible. We face a choice: do nothing and let the UN Security Council decide where Irish troops are deployed, or reform the Triple Lock so Ireland can choose missions aligned with our values.

The reason Harris does not want to face questions on the Finance bill is because he does not have a bulls notion whats in it or what it means, The man is a walking fucking disaster and everything he touches turns to shite. We get the quality of Govt we vote for and we voted for the likes of him over and over again regardless of his multiple disastrous past mistakes. Wake to fuck up people.

This is the same Robert Nairac who was allegedly commanding the unit that massacred The Miami Showband, an innocent group of musicians, and the same Nairac believed by many to have been present at the Kingsmill Massacre where ten Protestant workmen were slaughtered. Not a hero.
British Army Captain Robert Nairac was kidnapped, beaten, and executed while working undercover in Northern Ireland during the Troubles. Nairac served in the Grenadier Guards Regiment before moving into intelligence, where he was soon tasked to work undercover. He was in civilian clothing when he arrived at the Three Steps Inn in Dromintree on May 14th, 1977, possibly to meet a source, although he may have just been spotting and assessing the locals. A few of the bar patrons became suspicious after Nairac claimed to be Danny McErlean from the Ardoyne district of Belfast, since he did not have a distinctly Ardoyne accent. When he asked a woman if she knew how to get across the border undetected, the locals became convinced (correctly) that he was undercover. One man asked him to walk out in the parking lot to discuss something. Nairac was unarmed, having left his Browning Hi-Power and shoulder holster outside in his sedan. Outside, others were waiting. When he reached into his vehicle to retrieve his pistol, Nairac was struck over the head, and the weapon was wrestled away from him. He was bundled into a vehicle trunk and driven out to a stone bridge in a nearby field. There he was severely beaten and interrogated, although according to later accounts by the five men eventually convicted of murder, he gave away nothing, right until the end. Nairac was told to give his final confession to the Lord but was unable to recite the words due to his head injury. He was then shot in the head. His remains have never been recovered. He is one of the 16 Disappeared, men who were murdered and hidden during the Troubles. Since 1999, 13 of the 16 have been found, but Nairac and two others have not. There are longstanding rumors that he was put through a meat grinder and fed to farm animals. For episode 89 of the Spycraft 101 podcast I spoke with Toby Harnden, author of Bandit Country. We discussed the Troubles and its impact both on the residents of County Armagh and the British forces working to pacify the region. #ireland #belfast #ira #troubles #southarmagh youtube.com/watch?v=2iGT2sjd…

#Harrissed FINE Gaels 'long-term viability' is at risk if it does not address how it is perceived by voters, a stark new internal report has warned ✍️Brian Mahon @irishdailymail The document warns that the public does 'not realise' what Fine Gael stands for, with the party's messaging making it sound 'detached, managerial or defensive' when talking about key issues. The party is hovering at around 15% in national polling at present but in the foreword Mr FitzGerald says that Fine Gael has now set itself a target of winning 25% of voters at the next general election.

Remember the 14-year-old boy who was brought out yesterday from Azov’s secret detention facility in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, near Kyiv, where mobilized men and deserters were allegedly being beaten and held against thier will? Well, the boy is now in hospital. He has recorded a video telling his side of the story. And what a charming little tale of military honor and Ukrainian democracy it is. According to the boy, he came to the protest and climbed onto a fence. That's when soldiers struck him with a shovel, knocking him down onto the facility's grounds. They then dragged him inside and started beating him. Yes, beating a 14-year-old child. Not that his age was some great mystery. One look at his face and you can see he's a kid. Apparently, that wasn't quite obvious enough for these brave warriors. But it gets worse. The boy says they didn't just beat him. They cut the clothes off his body, including his underwear, leaving him standing in front of them "almost naked." And that, dear friends, raises serious questions of sexual violence and degrading treatment of a child. Allegedly perpetrated by Ukrainian servicemen. The beating, he says, stopped only when Budanov arrived. Meanwhile, Azov's propaganda machine and its loyal cheerleaders have already rolled out their crisis-management circus: the boy was a "provocateur." Ah, yes. The classic defense. When a child ends up in hospital, simply rebrand him as a national security threat. Problem solved. Perhaps they'll award themselves medals for neutralizing a teenager armed with the terrifying weapon of climbing a fence. Except the story appears to be rather more complicated. The boy alleges he was a victim of violence at the hands of Ukrainian soldiers. So who is going to answer for the ill-treatment, humiliation, and degrading treatment of a child? Where the hell is Ukraine's Human Rights Ombudsman? Has he misplaced the address of the hospital? Or is visiting an allegedly abused Ukrainian child simply not on today's democracy-defending itinerary? And where is Zelensky? Why hasn't he visited the boy in hospital? Oh, right. He had more pressing business in Germany, asking for more money. Zelensky does love telling the world how much children matter to him. Apparently, some children make better speeches than hospital visits. So when, exactly, does this grotesque circus of the Zelensky mafia finally come to an end? And how many more victims will it take before someone remembers that human rights are supposed to apply to actual human beings — including children — rather than merely serving as decorative slogans for international donors?

Probably have the wrong end of the stick, but is RTE management now being accused of buying a €5,000 tracksuit top for Ger Gilroy, their €190,000 podcaster which ex-Newstalk and current €269,055 RTE Head of Audio Patricia Monahan** recruited from .... Newstalk. Scandalous, you can get two Gucci tracksuit tops for that. ** You'll recall that when Jim Jennings, the €240,000 RTE Director of Content (who went off sick for a year after the Ryan Tubridy scandal broke in 2023, and who was paid a golden goodbye by RTE of €495,000) left RTE, he was replaced by not one, but two managers .... Patricia Monahan above on €269,055 and Steve Carson, husband of Miriam O'Callaghan on €276,282. Remember, special liquidation of RTE remains an option....

Hey @grok, concise no spin. Right after Diana’s 1997 death, former MI5 officer Annie Machon reported that Diana planned a global humanitarian campaign supporting a specific country and feared a plot against her life because of it. @grok: 1 Which country? 2 What exact method did she fear would be used against her? Country and method only.
