Once again It was operational and architectural negligence: • Single EOA (externally owned account) controlled the god-role (DEFAULT_ADMIN_ROLE). No multisig. • No timelock on role grants, revokes, or minting. The actions were instant. • No mint cap, no rate limits, and no separation of concerns (e.g. mint authority sitting behind another controlled contract or governance layer). No circuit breakers Any of these things could have prevented/reduced the impact of the hack but no, greed over security 🫡 All are basic DeFi hygiene in 2026. Once again our industry takes a bitch slap and basic security protocols were not implemented.

Crazy — another hack just happened! According to @dcfgod, @EchoProtocol_ on Monad was exploited. The hacker: minted 1,000 $eBTC ($76.64M) on Monad; deposited 45 $eBTC ($3.45M) into Curvance; borrowed 11.3 $WBTC ($867K) from Curvance; bridged the 11.3 $WBTC to Ethereum and swapped it for 385 $ETH ($821K); then deposited the 385 $ETH into Tornado Cash to launder the funds. 1inch's AMM provider has no public footprint. no documentation, no audits, no certifications, no track record. why does this keep happening? a no-name gets exploited, drags a major protocol into the headline, and users had no way to see the dependency risk they were carrying.
