EA employees are speaking out about mismanagement, GenAI push and BioWare’s closure🚀 ✅Employees report that the "do less, better" mantra has simply resulted in handling the same workload with fewer staff. ✅Upper management is heavily promoting generative AI (specifically Claude), telling staff that adoption is mandatory for the future. ✅Workers believe the technology is being pushed to test how drastically EA can cut headcount while maintaining output. BioWare’s Decline & Closure ✅BioWare was repeatedly forced to abandon its strengths (narrative choice, consequences, companions) to chase unprofitable live-service and multiplayer trends, wasting significant resources. ✅Studio leadership grew overly reliant on user experience research (UXR) and fear-driven decision-making, stifling creative risk-taking before the studio's closure. Source: Vertical Slice Disappointed, but definitely not surprised. So much of what’s said reflects very much how many of us felt, as it was quite obvious for the last 10-15 years. Risk-averse development, “do less” mentality, cost-cutting..etc. I feel really bad for the studios and talents that had to be suffocated under EA’s mentality. It’s obvious what kind of people they were ever since they tried to gaslight gamers into thinking single player gaming to be dead.

Etsy has banned AI-generated patterns and bot listings, and will now require sellers to post a real photo of the actual handmade item, protecting its 5 million mostly women-run shops.

pokimane does not owe atrioc forgiveness nor does she need to justify her feelings regarding a situation in which SHE was violated and victimized by non-consensual sexual images of her. As a reminder, digital deepfakes of this kind are the most common, mostly target women and girls, and are classified as a form of digital tech- enabled sexual abuse. Just because the images and videos are “fake” does not mean that the harm isn’t real. “He apologized, he took accountability” great! Perhaps though in your endless well of charitably for the man who caused this harm, you can reserve some of that empathy for the women who were victimized by those damaging actions.
hi everyone, i want to clarify some things about what i said on stream yesterday. 1) when he was first caught looking at paywalled, deepfake content of female streamers, it seems people forgot that the specific page shown on his stream was of me. i didn't say much at the time because i was so uncomfortable, publicly humiliated, and i didn't think it needed explaining because it was so obviously wrong. 2) i appreciate that he spent thousands of dollars helping remove ai/df content (3000$ of which was offered to me specifically), but i've had to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars towards that same effort. regardless, no amount of money undoes what happened. 3) i'm not trying to cancel anyone or be the arbiter of who can do what. i'm simply sharing my feelings about something that publicly happened to me, and the ways in which it's affecting me today. as he's become more involved in events and with people close to me, i've grown particularly uncomfortable. as far as i know, no one has really checked in with the women affected about how it makes them feel. other people forgiving him is their choice, but it doesn't mean i can't share my perspective on it as well. one thing i've seen happen far too often is the rewriting of history, particularly as it pertains to issues like these, so i prefer to stand my ground so the narrative doesn't get twisted. hope this clarifies things!

WE ARE DELAYING @EmbervilleGame Early Access UNTIL JANUARY 7th, 2026! We apologize for the delay in this (we were supposed to release into EA TOMORROW!) but we've decided that we need just a bit more time to cook the EA. We got exceptionally close to our quality targets but there are just a few issues we need 100% fixed and solid before we turn this project over to you guys. The demo will be staying up and we plan to give it some updates between now and then as well! Thanks for understand, guys. We have a lot of plates spinning behind the scenes and we would have liked to have gotten this announcement out earlier! Lessons learned on many fronts. But what this means is by January 7th, you'll be getting a freshly baked and delicious Emberville client. We'll see you then for the fun AND THANK YOU! 🥳

I think when you’re overstimulated you should appear kind of grayed out and no one should be able to interact with you like a locked character in a video game

See, this is what we want robots for. Clean waterways, sweep streets, etc.
A robot is cleaning rivers completely autonomously. 🌊 Meet Hebao H3, an autonomous surface-cleaning boat developed by Dongfang Water. Using onboard AI vision and GPS, it can detect and collect floating waste such as plastic bags, bottles and leaves while avoiding obstacles. When its collection bin is full, the H3 can automatically return to its base. Would you trust robots to keep our rivers clean? 👀 ⚠️ This content is shared for informational purposes only. And when Mary needed a husband God gave her a man who'd raise a son that wasn't his.
When Adam needed a wife, God didn’t hand him a single mother of three. He gave him a virgin.

I don’t give a fuck what Sam Altman declares. Why are we just letting these tech bros make these decisions for us? When did we all decide we don’t have any agency?
JUST IN: OpenAI CEO Sam Altman declares the world needs to “accept some bad things happening” in exchange for the benefits of AI.

This is such a remarkable victory for the power of collective action. Not a single bill passed through the Oval Office, not a single ballot was cast to eventually put Flock out of business. The sheer power of public opinion caused city halls across the country to cancel contracts in order to keep their elected seats. That is how representative democracy works
