I know it’s a college football Saturday and all, but this is going to be a fun Florida State basketball team.

Not too shabby.
Despite losing its best player, both tackles and adding a cast-off QB that everyone thought was washed...

Chuck Amato was an enormous part of the dynasty. Was here before Mickey. Was here for all but one year of the 14-year streak. Was a key, key member/figure/personality on that coaching staff. RIP to "The Chest."

No offense to Mensah, but there is one Miami guy that should be on this list. And it's not him.
Week 7 Heisman Hype 1. Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State 2. Bear Bachmeier, QB, BYU 3. Derian Mensah, QB, Miami 4. Jesse Legree, WR, Oregon State 5. Trinidad Chambliss, QB, Ole Miss 6. Connor Weigman, QB, Houston 7. Chas Nimrod, WR, Auburn (for the catch against Georgia alone!)

I like Louis riddick a lot. But this is not “decision time.” Whether it’s fourth down or first down is irrelevant. You’re running the clock down and kicking the FG.

Is this cameraman an intern? Good grief. Follow the ball, man.

Couple of things that upset me about this A) it’s not holding. He chops his arm down and he lost his balance B) this is very important. Holding is only supposed to be called if it could effect the play. The DE is double teamed and the ball is gone at the time of the “holding”. He’s nowhere near the QB. Just an all time bad call. It’s an official looking to be part of the game.
This was the holding call that brought back FSU's miracle catch in the end zone... Did they make the right call?

I know most of yall are asleep, but this official in the Oregon-Nebraska game just made the worst TD ruling I’ve ever seen. I mean … legit like he’s blind. That was unreal. Overturned in 4 seconds.

Reminds me of the 2009 FSU-Miami game. Fortson dropped the pass in the end zone, but sure looked like there was one second left when ball hit the ground. They didn't review that one either.
“It is embarrassing for all officiating quite frankly.” Did BYU-Notre Dame end with 1 second on clock? Our report on why the refs should’ve reviewed whether the Irish had time for another play: nytimes.com/athletic/7700125…

Also, the ESPN rules analyst made zero sense on his opinion on the Duce non-catch. And we had no real conversation about the hold on Danzy's non-catch. Both were VERY dubious. Again, though, Noles still would have had to get a 2-point conversion just to tie.
Seriously. That was a great game. Credit to FSU for going down there and playing like that. It was a fun and hard-fought college football game. It was still another loss. But still ... shout-out for the effort.

It's just as well. We all understand. And even if the catch counts, no guarantee FSU wins the thing. But that hold ... on a double-team in which it looked like dude just went down. He wasn't slung down. Crazy. Anyway .... great game.

The coin toss to overtime is kind of important. Crazy we were at a commercial for that.

Couldn't get a Michael Irvin shot on that one?

You could read Norvell's lips there talking on the headset after he called that timeout: "You better be fucking sure." A coach told him it was incomplete. Was hoping the replay booth would buzz down. It didn't. Because it WAS a catch. And now FSU is down a timeout.

Such a heads-up play there by that Miami defender. Danzy is absolutely going to recover that fumble. But it's hard to do when the dude is grabbing you by both arms.

If FSU is going to win this game ... and I can't believe I'm even typing that here in the 4th quarter ... the legs of Ashton Daniels will have to be a big part of it.
