The people who report to you will eventually forget most of what you say in a given moment…
But, what they won’t forget, is how you made them feel when things weren’t going smoothly. When things were hard.
Lead those moments carefully - it’s an underrated leadership quality.
Anyone can lead when things are going well.
Real leadership shows up in the quiet moments - the hard conversation you’d rather avoid, the standard you hold when it’s inconvenient.
You set the temperature…
If you panic, your team panics. If you stay steady, they remain steady. Your composure is contagious - so is your chaos.
It’s important to recognize how often your team feeds off your energy.
Adversity is ruthless at times… fact is, nobody’s coming to make it any easier on you. You’re still the only one that can control how you push forward.
And once you recognize that, you get dangerous. Be dangerous.
So humbled to be featured in @MLB’s Baseball in America series. You can’t always control the outcome, but you can control how you approach it. Grateful every day to be part of this amazing game!

His injury came in just his third game playing for Arizona State. In 2013, the D-backs made Hahn their 34th-round pick, and a year later the team hired him to work in the front office
Hahn has also created the charity Project 34 to support people with spinal cord injuries
Pressure isn’t the enemy. It isn’t just stressful.
It’s information. It tells you exactly where you still have room to grow.
Lean into it.
Focusing on adversity:
Everyone wants the growth. They want the progress.
That said, many people don’t want the part where it actually hurts.
But what most don’t realize is the hurt isn’t separate from the growth - it is the growth.
You don’t simply build a culture in the meetings or formal work settings.
You build it in the small moments when nobody’s keeping score. When a human simply is connecting to another human.
That’s where it’s real. That’s how it develops.
The work we try to avoid is usually the work that matters most.
That’s not a coincidence.
Go do the hard things! Be fired up to tackle the challenge! Put your head down and charge forward.
Sunday isn’t just the end of the week.
It’s also the quiet head start on the next one.
What you set in motion today decides how Monday meets you.
