CotEditor's localization process is community-based. We are welcome to add your language to CotEditor so that more people can edit text comfortably without hindrance. In CotEditor project, each language will be maintained by one maintainer on an ongoing basis to keep the quality.

A tip for CotEditor on macOS 27: Automatic document naming in CotEditor 7.1 is actually a system-wide feature of macOS 27 Golden Gate. You can turn it off by deselecting “Suggest file names” in the Finder’s General settings.

This release adds support for macOS 27 Golden Gate, search across files in an open folder, Back/Forward navigation between folder documents, and per-Mode indentation settings.
Requires macOS 26 or later.

I’ve released CotEditor 7.0.5. This release mainly focuses on bug fixes and stability improvements. The 7.0.x series is the last to support macOS 15. Unless new issues are found, 7.0.5 is expected to be the final release in the series.

macOS用テキストエディタの @CotEditor 用に、Markdownのセクション文字数カウントを行う支援ツール「Section Count for CotEditor」を作りました。
書籍などの長文を執筆する際、章・節・項といった階層で書き進めていくことが一般的ですが、「この章全体で今何文字？」ということをさっと把握したくなります。あるセクションに含まれる「子階層も含めて」、文字数をカウントしたいんですね。
というわけで、最前面にあるCotEditorの編集画面を監視して、セクションの文字数を表示する常駐アプリにしました。かなり複雑になりそうと思いましたが、Codex（5.5）と相談しながら進めたら意外とあっさり仕上がりました。
