Heat weren't great in their coverages last night, in part because Edwards did well playing off re-screens that caught the on-ball defender. Some up-to-touch stuff didn't include contests. But Wolves also only had 6 rim makes, one off their low for the past four seasons.

Much of what they need to clean up at the arc shouldn't lead to major trade-off at the rim, give or take a couple deeper drop looks they gave Ball early on that got adjusted quickly. Handled their paint priority, but have to rebound (60% DReb vs Minny) like they can, too.

The vibes were high, until they weren't. You aren't going to win many games getting beat at the arc like Miami did as Ant spoiled Giannis' debut. The question now is how much of tonight is or isn't worth real concern. For one game? Not much. Takeaways: nba.com/heat/news/coups-take…

Spo staggering Bam and Giannis with the same sub pattern he used last preseason game they appeared in together.

First six minutes of Heat-Wolves has this game on pace for about 120 possessions. Warp speed. Wolves hitting jumpers in all zones, but zero attempts at the rim so far. Heat 1-of-6 in the paint with one rim attempt.

You can only learn so much in preseason, but we got enough answers about the beginning of the Giannis-Bam era in Miami to get a sense of where this team could be going. Here's what I believe about the 2026-27 Heat ahead of Game 1. After The Buzzer: youtube.com/watch?v=lQ6ua6pz…

All that work and they barely managed to give her a C- fight scene to show off the skill.

Callina Liang says she trained kicks for 4 hours everyday for 6 weeks until filming began on ‘STREET FIGHTER’. “I had resistance bands on my legs and I had to learn how to balance on the one leg I was just kicking in & out all the time.”

That's a wrap on Miami's preseason, with most everything coming together to expectations - in a good way. The one surprise? Ryan Conwell, who could have a chance at minutes earlier than anyone thought. Takeaways: nba.com/heat/news/coups-take…

STREET FIGHTER (2026): Have to appreciate them leaning into the material and really trying, even if the result is an insane, often nonsensical movie. There is fun to be had. But good lord please put good fight scenes in your fighting game movies, and stop wasting Andrew Koji.

The anime scenes are very well done, at least, but they really only serve to remind you that we already have a near-perfect Street Fighter movie:

Nobody really needed a reminder, but Giannis offered one about his greatness all the same, giving those in attendance a true moment, even for preseason. The defense wasn't all perfect, but otherwise the Heat appear to be full steam ahead. Takeaways: nba.com/heat/news/coups-take…

I know I've been pounding the table on this a bit, but still think we're underestimating what have a switchable rim protector next to Bam is going to mean. Giannis may be the best rim protector they've had in quite awhile.

So excited to get @CoupNBA back on the show. It had been too long but it should be happening more this season. He's the best to talk real scheme/Xs&Os with insight on the team. Give it a listen!

Just a night in the preseason, but that's when young players start to find their game and everyone else begins to notice. Ryan Conwell is very much in that early stage, but tonight was when you could see his game start to come together. Takeaways: nba.com/heat/news/coups-take…
