13 years down. Last night we celebrated the start of a brand new chapter. Officially a teenager. Happy 13th Birthday, Carter! 💜 #Fatherhood #QuarterZips
Imagine serving generations of children at the same school for 31 years. Today marks that milestone for Mr. Ali.
He doesn’t just work at Henderson Mill ES; he’s part of its history, keeping it clean, safe, & welcoming.
31 years. One school. Generations served. @DeKalbSchools

🍽️ Georgia’s first student-run food truck is officially here! 🎉
Today, #DCSD unveiled Rolling Flavors of DeKalb through a partnership with @Intuit for Education.
DCSD is one of only 13 districts selected nationwide and the only district in Georgia participating in this program.
Thank you to Intuit, DeKalb County Government, and our CTAE team for supporting this opportunity for students.

“Empty seats are not neutral. They cost our students.”
In a featured Op-ed in the @ajc, Interim Supt. Dr. Norman C. Sauce III addresses the impact of declining enrollment on programs, staffing, and student opportunity across #DCSD.
Our district was built for 110,000 students. Today we serve just under 92,000. When facilities are underused, dollars intended for instruction, academic programs, and student supports are stretched across space we no longer need at the same scale.
@DrNormanCSauce3 also acknowledges the deeply personal nature of this conversation and affirms that the Student Assignment Project is iterative, data-driven, and shaped by community engagement. Final recommendations will not be made until fall 2026.

Before the first bell rings and before teachers unpack standards, the environment is already being set for learning. Shoutout to @DeKalbSchools OPS for setting the stage for powerful learning across our district.📚🏫
