So it is based on the rules when the athlete STARTED? Then why do the ‘23, ‘24, ‘25 classes get 5 years to play 5?

Todd Golden on eligibility chaos is worth your time ⬇️
"The NCAA has spent millions of dollars promoting the PCSA. But if that were to pass, the class of '22 athletes would be eligible."
"At this point, the NCAA is arguing that they're trying to prevent chaos, but they're really causing it."

Here’s #Gonzaga head coach Mark Few on the eligibility limbo of three of his players:
“The best expectation would be the NCAA just lets these guys play. It’s really unfortunate that they’re taking this stance. I’m not sure why we are sticking to targeting this one specific group. Our guys are wonderful, good students and these are the type of guys we should have in college basketball.”

How UN-AMERICAN is that?!
I’m taking a stand against student-athletes having to make major decisions without proper representation or a seat at the table.
Watch my YouTube episode to hear my take on how the NCAA should change its approach.

The Senate is about to vote on the union-busting Protect College Sports Act, which would undermine college athletes’ power while letting the NCAA and athletic conferences set the terms and conditions of work.
The AFL-CIO and its Sports Council urge Senators to reject this bill.
The Protect College Sports Act, endorsed by the NCAA and powerful athletic conferences, is a union-busting bill that would limit college athletes’ rights.
The Senate must reject this bill and work with athletes to empower them to fight for better terms and conditions on the job.

"Athletes should have a voice in the process."
"There's no instability in the game, there's just greed by the conferences."

Everyone in high level college athletics should watch this.
Rece is telling it like it is.
It’s time to stop pretending we don’t already have lots of pro athletes in college sports.
And it’s time to put in real work on a governance model that acknowledges this.
Our guy @ReceDavis gave a very thoughtful perspective on the entire pro player thing and the state of college sports. He’s always great.
Scenario for analogist (NCAA logic). A company changes their leave policy to say, everyone who's been here 6 years gets an extra month of leave. Then tells employees who started 4 years ago, it doesn't apply to you. Real world jobs don't function this way! Fight on Class of 22!

If you read the whole convo my point is that “older adults” as the NCAA calls them have been playing college sports forever, as you even point out.
But it’s just now saying it’s unfair for that to happen in order to try and get a federal bill passed.
Convenient argument.
