Creative Coaching Podcast

🏀 Coaches… 🤝 Networking can be done while on the road recruiting. 1️⃣ Make sure to stop and talk with coaches that are already friends or acquaintances with (you rarely see these people, it’s important to maintain your circle) 2️⃣ Introduce yourself to anyone you sit down directly next to. It’s respectful and professional. 3️⃣ Places that have hospitality areas for coaches, I always try to sit next to a coach sitting by themself. I’ll ask if I can join them, they always say yes. 5 minute conversation, you will likely see them again, quality touchpoint. 4️⃣ Keep your conversations minimal during live play, most coaches are there to evaluate / be seen by prospects… but before games or during halftime if there is someone that you are curious about their program or career, hit them with a couple questions. Keep it brief, so you can follow up down the road! 📩 The Follow-up… might be the most important part. Make sure to follow them on social media. Then those who gave you a quality amount of attention send them a handwritten letter in the mail. This touchpoint makes a lasting connection! 🏀 *Never forget that evaluating talent is the reason you are on the road, but touchpoints in networking is an added bonus!
