Imagine walking into a restaurant and spotting a piece of Creighton history on the wall. ⚓  That's exactly what happened to Tom Adams, BSBA'80, when he discovered an original life preserver from the S.S. Creighton Victory. This is a great addition to our story about the WWII ship dedicated to Creighton students and alumni, its service around the globe, and its unexpected role in helping Europe recover after the war. 🛟  Read the full story: alumni.creighton.edu/news-ev…

A big change came to campus 50 years ago: Swanson and Kiewit Halls went coed. 🏠  After years of student discussion and feedback, women moved into Swanson Hall and men joined Kiewit Hall, marking a new chapter in campus life. According to reports at the time, the transition was a success from the start, with students embracing the change and helping shape a more connected residential experience. Fifty years later, we're looking back at this milestone through photos from around that time. What's your favorite residence hall memory? ⬇️ Read more Creighton anniversary stories from 2026: alumni.creighton.edu/news-ev…

Forty years ago, The Skutt Student Center was just a blueprint.🏗️  Another 2026 Creighton Milestone takes us back to 1986, when the University broke ground on what would become the University's "living room," a place built for studying, grabbing lunch, meeting friends and making memories. At just 8 years old, Alexis Stockwell, MD'26, looked up from the family computer and told her mom, *"I'm going to be a doctor."* That childhood dream never changed, but during her time at Creighton, she discovered something even more meaningful: what it truly means to care for the whole person. From serving patients through ILAC in the Dominican Republic and the Magis Clinic to preparing for her pediatrics residency, Alexis says Creighton shaped her into the kind of physician she always hoped to become. Read how her journey was transformed by service, mentorship and the generosity of scholarship donors. 💙 🔗 Read her full story: alumni.creighton.edu/news-ev…

As we close out our #CreightonLoveStories summer series, we're honored to share former basketball player, Ted Wuebben, BSBA’74 and his wifie, and Colleen Colleen Wuebben's, BA’75 beautiful story. Colleen was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2005 and passed away in 2013, just shy of their 40th wedding anniversary. A year before her death, she wrote a poem for Ted reflecting on that conversation they shared as college students — and the life they built together. 💌 Check out their full story: alumni.creighton.edu/news-ev…

Kelsea (Worcester) Gillespie, BSBA’14, and Matthew Gillespie, BA’13, first got to know each other through the Creighton Students Union. Matthew kept finding reasons to stop by the CSU office while Kelsea worked the early morning shift, and before long, the two student leaders were spending plenty of time together. One night, they went for a drive just to chat. That turned into dinner. “From then on, we were inseparable,” Kelsea said. Together, they worked to improve student life at Creighton — restructuring CSU to better represent underrepresented students, making student organization funding more accessible and planning campus events. Outside of meetings, they spent their time grabbing dinner, watching The Office, talking for hours in the park and enjoying time with friends. They were married a year later at St. John's Church and now live in the Minneapolis area with their two children. “There’s something magical about Creighton,” Kelsea said. “It’s a place where you can talk about what truly matters to you… The shared Jesuit values helped us create a foundation that allows us to keep growing together.” Follow along for more #CreightonLoveStories in our summer series. 💌  Do you or someone you know have a Creighton love story?
