How is ‘justice’ executing a human for whom there is DNA evidence proving innocence? Mercy. We must do better. Be better. Please act now - see the original post for ways you can help!
"To date, no court has ever reviewed the DNA evidence proving [Marcellus Williams' innocence]. Yet, the State successfully sought an execution date, highlighting the system’s emphasis on finality over innocence. That is not justice," wrote his lawyers. innocenceproject.org/stop-th…

Nowhere is the dramatic decline in safety starker than in women’s prisons, where rates of self-harm are now ten times higher in female establishments than in male establishments.
In the 12 months to the end of September 2023, self-harm incidents rose by a huge 38 per cent in women’s prisons.

Fantastic exoneration today in Ada, Oklahoma! Perry Lott - 30 years in, 5 on parole, totally innocent. A sexual assault conviction, a ridiculously suggestive ID procedure, and new DNA testing that proved innocence. Perry, a Navy veteran
is an inspirational human.

A small but growing number of governments are defending people, peace and planet against regressive forces. Yesterday at #UNGA78 they agreed the world's first political declaration on #FeministForeignPolicy - grateful to tell that story for the @nytimes today:
