As with so many, I’m migrating from this hell hole over to Bluesky if anyone is over there and I’m not following already give me a shout.
They have been moved to 4%, wonder what happens in next 18mths. When I bought my house the IR was over 5%, tho I can’t remember what my mortgage rate was. Hoping things improve over 18mths
BASE RATES IN A NUTSHELL
The base rate decision is at noon today. The huge expectation is that the UK interest rate will rise from 3.75% to 4.00%. The markets (swap rates) are factoring in at least 3 more rises over the next 12 months, though a number of economists say that’s overblown, with some predicting 4.25% as the peak (in simple terms, markets look at risks; economists make predictions).
Booked in for a colonoscopy in a couple of weeks. It’s the most uncomfortable 24hrs but it’s better than the alternative. As I’m anxious with needles, I forgo the anaesthetic so I’m wide awake. Like crippling colic but means I can drive home after.

If you ever feel useless just know that Elon Musk spent $40 billion buying the world's most powerful propaganda tool, then spent hundreds of millions of dollars trying to buy Texas, and no one listened to him so now he's deleting all his tweets 😭😭😭

Progressing the Play in Midfield
Ignoring the transition from CAM to CDM or from League One to Championship with Cardiff City & just focussing on his quality under Brian Barry-Murphy.
Far too many central midfielders are risk-averse, sideways passers & very restricted technically with minimal passing range.
Alex Robertson is none of that, playing as a 6 isn't as flashy and comes with less direct goal involvements than playing higher but you can still contribute massively if you are aggressive:
- Most Completed Passes in Champ
- 2nd Highest CM Prog Passer in Champ
- 3rd Highest Overall Prog Passer in Champ
- 148 Line-Breaking Passes
- 21 Chances Created (5 Big Chances)
Alex is developing at every turn, on pitch & off pitch. I have been blown away by his attention to detail, his desire to be better & commitment to his extra analysis with myself to push himself.
It's been a real shame seeing Cardiff struggling with a small newly promoted squad and a ridiculous injury crisis at the back or they'd have more points on the board already.

How come do we seem to play a side that has just sacked their manager. Typical.
Couldn’t they have waited for the international break before sacking him.

Beyond parody
An old school friend on FB has shared the racist voice of Wales fuckwits video. No context, and from previous posts I can’t believe she supports them. Another such post and I’ll unfriend and block. Not having that shite on my feed.
2 ex @CardiffCityFC players on this list, @MichaelChopra and Eddie Johnson 😁 sadly 2001 I wasn’t young even then 😭😭
All these rate rises etc, worrying times. My fixed 5yr ends summer 28, ok I’m on 4% something now, just hope they drop back by then. Was hoping to start taking my first pensions by then and over paying to reduce what’s left. 🤞🤞
