Today, at the #UNGA debate on the IRMCT Annual Report, Croatia reiterated its support for the timely completion and transfer of the Mechanism’s functions. 🇭🇷 confirmed its readiness to assume responsibility for the preservation of the archives of the ICTY and the Mechanism as their long-term host.
As Vice-Chair of the @UNPeacebuilding Commission, Croatia🇭🇷 was delighted to participate in the joint annual meeting with the AU Peace and Security Council, further strengthening the partnership between the two bodies.
At today’s #3C dialogue, 🇭🇷 recalled that 1,725 persons remain missing from the aggression against Croatia. Decades later, the search for truth continues. Access to information, justice and remembrance are essential to restoring dignity to victims and their families.

At the joint 2C-ECOSOC meeting on closing the SDG financing gap, Croatia 🇭🇷 stressed the need for stronger international cooperation, innovative financing, and effective public-private partnerships to accelerate #SDG action, advance #2030Agenda and leave no one behind.
Disarmament is not an end in itself. Its true measure is the security it brings to people's lives.

Addressing #UNGA81 #2C, Croatia 🇭🇷 stressed the importance of determined national action and smarter, more predictable financing for sustainable development, including innovative financing, stronger domestic resource mobilization, and a more coherent, action-oriented UN system.
As we approach 2030, we need a financing ecosystem—and a UN system—fit for purpose and capable of delivering #SDGs at the speed and scale required.

Sastao sam se s izvršnom direktoricom UNICEF-a Catherine Russell @unicefchief, kojoj sam zahvalio na predanom radu i snažnom partnerstvu s Hrvatskom.
✅ U posljednjih osam godina kroz @UNICEF projekte usmjerili smo više od 6 milijuna € u 10 zemalja, uključujući Ukrajinu, Moldovu, Tursku, Gazu, Libanon, Jordan i Etiopiju. Posebno ističemo projekt u Keniji, usmjeren na obrazovanje i razvoj praktičnih vještina djevojaka, koji je ujedno naš prvi projekt u okviru inicijative Team Europe o humanocentričnoj digitalizaciji u Africi.
Produbljivanju naše suradnje dodatno će pridonijeti djelovanje UNICEF-ova ureda za više zemalja, koji će iz Zagreba uz Hrvatsku obuhvaćati i Bugarsku, Grčku i Rumunjsku.
U vremenu rastućih humanitarnih potreba snažan multilateralni sustav važniji je nego ikad – kako bismo djeci i mladima, osobito onima u najranjivijim okolnostima, omogućili da uče, napreduju i grade sigurniju budućnost.

In my address to the 81st session of the @UN General Assembly, I stressed that Croatia brings the experience of a nation that, within a single generation, faced aggression and occupation, defended its freedom, and rebuilt itself. It joined the United Nations, @NATO, and the European Union, while developing a vibrant democracy and a growing economy.
Croatia knows how important it is that international law applies equally to all. ➡️ We support #Ukraine, its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, as well as a just and lasting peace based on the UN Charter. The same principle must guide our approach in the Middle East: protecting civilians, ensuring humanitarian access, respecting international law, and pursuing political solutions to the current crises.
The world is being transformed by technology, climate change, demographic pressures, illegal migration, and geopolitical rivalry.
It is our responsibility to manage these processes so that change contributes to greater human freedom and security, rather than undermining them.
The United Nations must begin its own transformation ➡️ with the aim of becoming more effective, accountable, and financially sustainable, and stronger across all three pillars: peace and security, sustainable development, and human rights.
The UN Charter and international law must be respected equally by all.

U sjedištu @UN sudjelovali smo na Summitu P4M – Partneri za multilateralizam, međunarodno pravo, mir i prosperitet. Istaknuo sam da se nalazimo u ozbiljnom trenutku za međunarodni poredak. Međunarodno pravo i Povelja UN-a dovedeni su u pitanje, a najjasniji je primjer ruska agresija na #Ukraine.
Povelja UN-a nije izbornik iz kojeg biramo što nam odgovara – ona vrijedi za sve i u svakom trenutku. Hrvatska zagovara moderni suverenizam ➡️ snažnu i suverenu državu, utemeljenu na demokratskim vrijednostima i međunarodnom pravu te čvrsto povezanu s europskim i globalnim partnerima.
Multilateralna suradnja mora građanima donositi konkretne koristi ➡️ sigurnost i prosperitet, otvorenu trgovinu utemeljenu na pravilima te odgovorno upravljanje umjetnom inteligencijom i kibernetičkim prostorom.
Hrvatska će nastaviti snažno doprinositi ovoj inicijativi i jačanju multilateralne suradnje. 🇭🇷🇺🇳

🇭🇷🤝🇬🇭 Minister @grlicradman met with Ghanaian Foreign Minister @S_OkudzetoAblak on the margins of #UNGA81.
They discussed strengthening bilateral political and economic cooperation, expanding trade and investment, and cooperation within international organisations.
Croatia is committed to deepening its partnerships with African countries and strengthening EU–Africa cooperation.
