Australia's defence spending is already higher than ever before -- but it has reached new heights that are higher than the government is admitting.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers in 2025 told reporters, “We’re taking defence spending from about 2% of our economy to more than 2.3% in the course of the next decade or so.”
