🚨 JUST IN: The Old Trafford hierarchy genuinely want Michael Carrick to succeed. If the club intended to replace him, they would already have done so and lined up an interim option. The midweek result against Roma showed some improved spirit, and today’s match against Aston Villa will be telling.
There is currently no firm contingency plan in place should a change be required. While discussions with potential candidates’ representatives have taken place in recent weeks (with more time available over the international break), no clear alternative has been identified.
A disastrous result today could increase pressure for a change, but as things stand, United are continuing with Carrick.
