interesting theory, theres actually a whole book about this if you want to read more on it, read "Dune" by Frank Herbert
One of the coolest theories I’ve come across is that Paul Atreides was never truly the Kwisatz Haderach the Bene Gesserit intended—he was a rogue variant who forced the path open too early, and the real one (or the one who could have walked the Golden Path without becoming a tyrant) was always meant to emerge much later. The idea is that his prescience locked the universe into a narrower, more violent timeline, which is why Leto II had to take the extreme measures he did to force humanity off that track. It also ties into the theory that the sandworms themselves are a kind of living archive of ancestral memory—each worm carrying fragments of the consciousness of every Fremen and every previous God Emperor who was absorbed into the spice cycle. So when someone takes the Water of Life, they’re not just accessing their own genetic memory; they’re briefly plugging into a planetary-scale consciousness that has been evolving for millennia. Makes the whole ecosystem feel even more alien and deliberate.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is literally just the plot of Dune. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dune_(nov…

An unintentional consequence of the way the internet has given us ease of access to media, is we no longer have the phenomena of art made specifically as a consequence of people who can't access a thing, and watching genres/styles/impressions get 'lost in translation' and mutate.
Japanese filmmaker Takeshi Miike described Texas Chainsaw Massacre as a movie that made Japan fear Texas. To him it felt dangerous, the first movie that did. The people of Japan didn’t want to visit Texas so instead, its monster visited them.

Knockoffs, whether those be small-time hardcore bands being their region/country's version of a successful act, obvious pastiches of successful foreign movies, American indie wrestlers clearly doing their best impressions of high-flyers... All validated by their serving a demand.

Obviously this still happens on a smaller scale, but I think nowadays there's so much more of a "Why would I have this fake version of _ when I could just enjoy the real thing" and while that should encourage innovation I think in many ways you don't get that without derivatives.

Haven't said "THANK YOU!" aloud at a gif this hard since the time Desperado cracked Hiromu in the face with a chair.

yes that’s called “hardcore music” and it’s what young men used to do in this country before the CIA built adin ross
Turnstile songs are 3 minutes of the same riff and Brendan Yates saying some shit like “the power of friendship keeps me alive/separate my friend group I’ll probably die”

So much 'analysis' of this movie unfortunately breaks down into stan posting from nearly everyone around you. It's a bad vibe.
Remember when Amanda gives Nathan a strange look when he tells her that Elizabeth didn't really drink coffee - even after we saw her drinking coffee in front of Nathan? It turns out Amanda knew all along that Nathan wasn't seeing Elizabeth clearly because he had fallen under her spell.

A Campaign Against Antisemitism steward was filmed by Al Jazeera offering to provide “muscle” at a rally organised by Turning Point UK, a far right group that Al Jazeera revealed to have links to Loyalist paramilitary contract killers. The CAA was already thoroughly discredited last December when a judge ruled a case it had brought against the comedian Reginald Hunter was “vexatious” and “abusive” and aimed purely at getting him “cancelled”. So horrified was the judge by their behaviour he instructed a copy of his ruling to be attached to any future legal action brought by the CAA. It is astonishing the CAA still has charitable status and more astonishing still that the BBC interviews it as being representative of the Jewish community. Lorna Hosford reports for Double Down Newswatch.
