Passenger Update | Sunday 7pm Weather issues continue to impact on flight operations this evening (Sunday). Around 40 flights have been cancelled by airlines today at Dublin Airport. While the weather has improved significantly this evening in the Dublin area, issues remain at some other airports overseas. Passengers flying tonight/tomorrow (Monday) should travel to the airport as normal - 2 hours before short-haul, 3 hours before long-haul - and keep in direct contact with their airline for latest updates regarding the status of their flight. ✈️

Hard to disagree with anything in here! “In my opinion, he's the greatest domestic coach in Ireland of the modern era. And if he's only getting started like he suggests? Who knows what happens next!” @ShamrockRovers☘️ @LeagueofIreland ⚽️
A word on Stephen Bradley. In his early days at Shamrock Rovers, the banners were out. Sections of the Tallaght crowd wanted him gone, and plenty felt his time was up before it had really started. Look at him now. Bradley didn't just come back from the brink. He has delivered six league titles in seven seasons (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2025 and 2026), as well as FAI Cups in 2019 and 2025, the latter sealing Rovers' first double since 1987. No manager in the modern era has won more league titles, though he's still two short of the late Jim McLaughlin's record of eight. People will point to the biggest budget in the country, and fair enough. But the biggest budget brings the biggest egos, and Bradley has controlled that dressing room year after year. He has brought players through the academy, and taken players other clubs cast aside and got a tune out of them. And he did all of it while dealing with the hardest thing any parent could face. His son Josh was diagnosed with leukaemia as an eight-year-old and fought it for three years. Thankfully, Josh got the all clear, and all of Irish football was delighted for the Bradley family. The Hibs interest last month didn't surprise me, but it was never really likely he'd abandon the club when there was a job yet to be done. Though I think there's room for growth tactically, I do think he could be a success away from Ireland. Tonight he told Virgin Media he intends to stay, saying he's "only starting" and has his eye on another four-in-a-row. I've said consistently that we're closer to the end of the Bradley era than not. I don't think that's revolutionary... But maybe he will prove me wrong. At 41, he's still incredibly young and has the opportunity to build an era of dominance unlike anything Irish football has ever seen! There will come a day when he leaves, and when he does, it'll leave an enormous void in Tallaght. Love him or loathe him, his impact on Irish football can't be denied. In my opinion, he's the greatest domestic coach in Ireland of the modern era. And if he's only getting started like he suggests? Who knows what happens next!

BREAKING MAJOR RESCUE OPERATION UNDERWAY OF THE NORTHWEST OF IRELAND A major search and rescue operation is underway of the northwest coast of Ireland around the center of #stormboelo this evening following distress calls from big Russian tanker carrying diesel. The UK Coastguard is coordinating a response to an Inmarsat-C Distress Alert from vessel MYRA. This potentially one of the Russian ships heading to the USA with Diesel . I hope there is no leaks as it would be a environmental disaster. The Irish air corps and Coastguard don't have the capabilities to provide cover due to the range the tanker is out 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 & 𝗦𝗔𝗥 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 Given the extreme distance from mainland coastal stations (beyond typical shore-based rotary SAR operational radius without offshore refueling) and current sea states, direct surface intervention by coastal rescue craft is technically constrained. Standard Search and Rescue protocol in this scenario relies on:Alerting nearby commercial traffic via GMDSS broadcast.Deploying long-range fixed-wing maritime patrol aircraft (such as RAF P-8A Poseidon) for top-cover monitoring and communications relay if required. This rescue operation is ongoing as off 20:57 #SAR #Mayday #Coastguard #storm #weather #ireland #uk – at Leitrim, Ireland
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
A distress alert from tanker MYRA led UK Coastguard to alert nearby vessels for assistance but no major rescue was underway; the ship continued sailing and trackers reported it in ballast (empty), not carrying diesel, en route to Egypt. theins.ru/news/298705 vesselfinder.com/vessels/detail… vesseltracker.com/en/Ships/Myra-…
