Kaspa is real-time bitcoin, solving scalability is great but not the core value prop. Real-time bitcoin means achieving in a few seconds the same security guarantees that nakamoto consensus / bitcoin achieves after an hour; decentralizing each consensus round rather than chain quality achieved through a coarse aggregate of rounds. A clean definition anchor for real-time decentralization (RTD): The ability to sample the honest majority in real-time. (Note that even fast leaderless VRF-based proof-of-stake cant sample honestly bc the selected nodes get to choose the content of their blocks after they've been selected; pos=select then write, pow=write then select) -- RTD affects: txn confirmation, censorship resistance, secure oracle finality, MEV resistance. Eg censorship resistance, bitcoin is the most censorship resistant chain, but if 60% of the miners are censoring you (point in reference: OFAC abiding tornado censoring eth miners), your txn will pend for 30-40 minutes. For shady business payments that's not prohibitive, but for a real economy, for an asset aspiring to be at least a king of collateral even if not an MoE, this is unacceptable, esp under economic stress. Beyond censorship, all things finance benefit tremendously from pow density, from sampling the majority in real-time in a secure and honest manner. I wont get into MEV resistance now, but having a "conscious" stream of oracle attestations (not price oracles) finalized in real-time qualitatively upgrades the ability to encode informed risk, collateral, liquidity management, which is the lifeblood of defi. In context of conf times, increasing from 1 to 10bps saturates the latency optimization. But for pow density we need dozens of blocks per second, with the endgame of 100 bps: Under 10bps a 37% attacker can fake the majority signal with probability 12%. With 100bps this drops to 0.3%. Today Kaspa can't accelerate to >10bps w/o harming conf times, but DAGKNIGHT will be implemented hopefully by Q3 at least on testnet, by which we will push for 25-40bps. The cherry on top: RTD also implies netsplit resistance, as per the partial synchrony framework. WWIII cyberwar resistance. Hypothetically speaking ofc. (elaborated- hashdag.medium.com/in-which-…)
Zcash is private Bitcoin Litecoin is faster Bitcoin Kaspa is scalable Bitcoin Decred is governance Bitcoin Bitcoin Cash is big block Bitcoin Ethereum is smart contract Bitcoin Quantus is quantum resistant Bitcoin Monero is reactionary fungible Bitcoin “Bitcoin” is not just a ticker. “Bitcoin” is not just one network. Bitcoin is the name of a movement, the symbol of a revolution, and the ecash that actually changed the world.

Oh boy, this is going to be a long post. You say Kaspa “can’t do what BCH can do,” then list features that are either already live or scheduled, and end with “I don’t want to waste my time.” Translation: no actual argument. But since I apparently have time to waste, I'll run through your claims and then do a quick side by side of BCH and Kaspa. Sound good? Good. ----- First, the things Kaspa is claimed to “lack”: - Smart contracts: Kaspa already has smart contracts via L2 (Kasplex), with more coming (Igra zkEVM on L2, vProgs for L1 settlement logic). - Tokens: Tokens exist on both Layer 1 and Layer 2. - Multisig: Scheduled for activation with the May hard fork. - Covenants: Also scheduled for the May hard fork. - Data embedding: Kaspa supports arbitrary payloads and data attachment in blocks. Since Crescendo, this enables richer transaction metadata, comparable to what BCH supports. - “Decentralized development via CHIP”: A formal process does not equal decentralization. BCH’s CHIP system relies on a small proposal board to gate changes. Kaspa development is open, permissionless, adversarial, and peer-reviewed, closer to Bitcoin’s model, with no central committee approving or rejecting protocol evolution. As for your final point, it has nothing to do with code, incentives, or architecture. Kaspa has no CEO, no foundation, no VCs, no premine, and no privileged class. Just miners, node runners, developers, and holders. Same as Bitcoin. Same as BCH. Dismissing a permissionless PoW network based on a developer’s nationality rather than its design isn’t a technical argument. It's prejudice. ----- Now, BCH vs Kaspa (because I have the time): Scaling - BCH scales by increasing block size, which raises bandwidth, storage, and operational costs over time. - Kaspa scales via a blockDAG, allowing parallel blocks and high throughput without inflating node requirements. Consensus Model - BCH remains a single chain Nakamoto design with inherent serial bottlenecks. - Kaspa generalizes Nakamoto Consensus to parallel block production, removing the bottleneck entirely. Security vs Throughput - BCH trades decentralization pressure for throughput by pushing larger blocks. - Kaspa increases throughput without shifting security assumptions or excluding verifiers. Finality & UX - BCH relies on slow, probabilistic confirmations and social conventions for “instant” payments. - Kaspa delivers seconds level, protocol enforced finality at the base layer. Decentralization Trajectory - BCH trends toward fewer, more professional node operators as blocks grow. - Kaspa prunes by default and keeps node operation accessible to individuals. Incentives - BCH inherits an incentive model not designed for sustained high throughput. - Kaspa’s incentives are explicitly designed for high block rates and parallelism. Long-term - BCH scales by continually turning the same knob harder: bigger blocks, more bandwidth, more storage, higher operational costs, which inevitably reduce the number of people who can independently verify the chain. - Kaspa scales by design and still has significant headroom: throughput increases come from parallel block production and DAG ordering, not from forcing ever larger blocks or rising hardware requirements. ----- In short, BCH optimizes an old model. Kaspa evolves the model itself. You claim to dismiss Kaspa because of missing features, but those features actually exist or very close to existing. You’re actually dismissing it though because it shows that peer to peer cash can scale without compromising decentralization. And that’s the part you don’t want to spend time engaging with. I suggest you actually do some studying.

Have you ever looked at different DLT projects and realized they're all converging on the same ideas, just with different terminology? And have you ever wondered what would happen if you forced all DLT projects to have a baby, where each could only contribute their most powerful ideas? You'd be surprised by the overlap - how non-unique many projects actually are - and how few genuinely good ideas exist. Often they sound almost trivial once you strip away the noise. The problem is that fundamental breakthroughs get buried under layers of unnecessary complexity - the inevitable result of gradually expanding a protocol's capabilities as research progresses. With Kaspa, we have the benefit of being late. In fact, we're so late that we arrive at the party when almost all the research has already been done. We can skip the archaeology and just make that perfect baby - making the final breakthrough on our quest for perfection. Today we are open-sourcing our vprogs framework: github.com/kaspanet/vprogs A post-Amdahl execution engine that enables inter-block parallelism and linear scaling beyond boundaries traditionally assumed to be possible in the context of DLT execution. By deeply understanding causal actors and domains, we eliminate almost all logic and instead encode behavior in dependencies and relational properties of a generic type framework. This allows us to transparently map hardware resources to workload - achieving linear scalability. The design principles: - No fsync / WAL flush boundaries - No mutexes / locks - Versioned append-only data with efficient rollbacks - Maximal parallelism - even inter-block - breaking through Amdahl's law - No wasted CPU cycles on speculative execution This repo is still heavily WIP with rough edges (we don't even prune state yet). But the goal of this repository is to create a concrete instantiation of all existing research directions condensed into a singular, maximally performant type framework that gets away with almost no logic. There's still room for improvements (zero-copy deserialization, NUMA affinity, etc.) but we're converging toward a system that can eventually no longer be optimized or simplified. The holy grail of blockchain execution isn't more complex but orders of magnitude less complex than anything that exists today! I am really looking forward to tell you more about this in the coming weeks (I just ordered a new microphone pre-amp to be able to host regular hangouts where we can discuss and explain how everything works under the hood - let's pray for a fast delivery 😅).

Kaspa’s runtime architecture achieves scalability not by optimizing block-level throughput, but by rethinking the role of blocks entirely. Instead of treating state transitions as discrete batches that must be processed sequentially, Kaspa models them as a continuous stream of causally-related transactions, with blocks serving only as logical markers that define the boundaries of possible reorgs. This shift in perspective moves the performance bottleneck away from "how fast can we process everything inside a block" toward "how can we parallelize all currently known tasks across the entire DAG". When a block contains a spike of non-parallelizable work, traditional blockchains must stall until the block is fully processed. Kaspa does not. Because unrelated transactions can be scheduled immediately - even those belonging to future blocks - the system avoids idle CPU cycles and eliminates the classic straggler problem. Most existing DLT architectures tightly couple block production with state commitments, proofs, or other finalization steps, making their execution model inherently sequential. Even if they support some parallelism within a block, they still wait for a block to finish before moving on to the next one. This introduces unnecessary latency and forces the runtime to juggle responsibilities that are orthogonal to efficient workload distribution. Kaspa’s strict separation of concerns allows the entire execution model to collapse into a minimal, expressive, and highly generic framework - small enough to run any ACL (access-control list) enabled VM at essentially bare-metal performance. Its design models causal dependencies at the lowest hardware-relevant level, enabling an execution flow that is: - completely lock-free - free of WAL flushes or global sync barriers - based entirely on eventual consistency This results in a simpler, more scalable, and far more hardware-efficient architecture than anything deployed in blockchain systems today. In effect, Kaspa does for distributed ledgers what TensorFlow and CUDA Graphs did for machine learning: it exposes a parallel execution model that can scale seamlessly with modern hardware, turning theoretical throughput into practical reality (the 64000 TPS that Solana achieves in the lab let's bring that to practice). I am extremely excited about this as this is exactly what I always wanted to build with IOTA and now it's finally done. We are still working on implementing the higher levels of abstraction like designing a capability based linear type system abstraction for state management and resource access that gets rid of the need for manual capabilities wiring like in SUI and there is still a bit of work left but I don't think that you will ever be able to build a more scalable architecture than directly modeling the causal structure of state changes down to the lowest hardware layer. Kaspa is going to melt faces my friends and it's going to be so much better that it will be impossible to ignore! And it's such a simple API with Rayon level abstraction ... I am seriously getting a nerd-gasm just looking at the code 😅: github.com/hmoog/kas-l2/blob… This goes out to KEF and the entire community: Thank you so much for allowing me to take part in this journey - this really feels like coming home! 🥰

@binance, Thanks for including me in the top 100 blockchain people list, appreciate the signal! I must decline the Dubai invite though. I do not wish to disrespect, but many of the award voters are avid kaspians who rooted for my kaspa status at least as much as for my research. Let them win or count me out. Crypto has turned from a euphoric cypherpunk project to a house-friendly casino. You may not be the culprit, but as a top player you hold the lion’s share of the responsibility to correct this, and the October crash your USDe oracle glitch helped trigger adds to what needs to be addressed. There are three classes of crypto, as @mert put it recently: commercial crypto, casino crypto, cypherpunk crypto. <<Binance should hold a privilege policy for the latter.>> A TBTF CEX should know better and play a different game with hardcore crypto projects. When binance lists a green frog three weeks post its “launch” but skips a fair-launched-Nakamoto-Consensus-100ms-upgrade-ATH-top-20-the-only-nonbitcoin-marathon-mined project, this is not merely binance rationally calculating; it is also binance molding the market in a way that is alas misaligned with the roots of the movement. You may feel that kaspa’s sovereign money thesis is boring – that bitcoin is already money and that implementing an internet-speed bitcoin is useless - fine. Wrong but fine. But what’s the thesis for the green frog? Money is a classic chicken-and-egg product. It is a scam up until one moment before tipping point, “most of the value comes from the value that others place in it.” Considering your resources and influence, I think it's safe to say you can serve as both the egg and the chicken and make it worth your while to push sound attempts towards tipping point. @cz_binance tweeted recently that “strong projects will be listed.” But binance is part of what defines "strong", it bears responsibility for the market’s compass and impulse and definition of strong. It is not a read-only entity. Binance listing fees are legit, they are just unfit for category cypherpunk. Kaspa devs and early supporters fairly mined less than half what satoshi and hals mined. We don’t have a 20% ZEC-style founders’ reward or protocol-enforced dev fund; this is not a jab at ZEC and the wonderful @Zooko, who was crashing in my car on a late Thursday back in the low ZEC MC days – if somebody deserves to win it is zooko – but assuming binance is not taking a maxi bet, it should revisit its relationship with hardcore crypto. We are here through bull and bear, ICOs NFTs XYZs; and we are the source of confidence that restores faith and capital inflow post meme-induced or CEX-induced crashes. Please fix this. Thanks again, hashdag cc @michaelsuttonil Exhibit A: Binance Innovation Zone Exhibit B: 10 bps Nakamoto Consensus

Hey Elon, We know you love Bitcoin. But you're hesitant for whatever reason - maybe it's too slow and can't scale on base layer? If you're looking for something that has all the positive features of Bitcoin (proof of work, fair launched, debasement proof) AND can scale on base layer, you should look into #Kaspa. $KAS is decentralized, secure, AND scalable (solving the blockchain trilemma). Kaspa has <1 second block confirmations and has final settlement on the base layer. It uses a new protocol to order blocks in parallel and enables significantly higher throughput on the base layer. It's revolutionary and worth studying - even if just for fun. Who knows, it might help you with launching rockets to Mars. Happy to chat if you have questions or want to dig deeper!

1. You will learn that proof of work can scale now. Being slow is no longer a feature but simply a limitation. 2. You will learn that the so called L2s “solutions” on Bitcoin are not really supporting Bitcoin at all nor will it be enough to scale Bitcoin for the masses. 3. You will learn that your security budget is not something you can just leave for your grandchildren to figure out.

I sympathize with $BTC Maxis to an extent, I started mining Bitcoin in 2011 when it was $7 so I have heard of every "new/next" Bitcoin since then. However, gotta be careful not to paint yourself into a corner with "Boy who cried Wolf" syndrome - eventually, someone is going to be telling the truth, in this case its $KAS - Not that it will replace or is the next or new $BTC, it simply finishes what Satoshi started - Orange is great for Digital Gold, Store of Value, first mover advantage, ETF exposure, brand recognition. Orange sucks, however, at actually transacting. Therefore simultaneous 100ms blocks decentralized Nakamoto consensus opens up new possibilities for DLTs that $BTC will never learn, its impossible. Instead of a bus coming once every 10 mins to pick up transactions, $KAS has 10 Ubers taking Tx's every second - its simply progress of technology that open minded people embrace.

@hashdag I propose we as a community vote in the discord re the Kaspa account. Here are my ideas: 1) Community members who already have a voice or contribute to the network can volunteer to help the run account (anyone can sign up, but it helps to be known). We can have maybe 5-10 (or more) members who are voted in. They all will control access to the account. And anytime a post is made, it’s signed with that person’s account or name. 2) Monthly or quarterly elections to either re elect the same members or vote in new volunteers. 3) Remove the blue check mark. A decentralized currency shouldn’t have a blue check mark, unless the check mark is community funded, but crowd funding $8 is silly. 4) There can be a new channel created in the Kaspa discord where people share information/ graphics/ announcements to be posted on the account. This way there is a decentralized method to posting and it’s not only one person’s ideas. 5) [insert more ideas or input] Thoughts?

During the good old big block bitcoin debates, Gregory Maxwell & @MeniRosenfeld proposed elastic block caps (bitcointalk.org/index.php?to…). That idea was largely forgotten—but inspired by this line of thought, I’m proposing some flavour of it to enable elastic throughput and native on-chain stark verification (cc @VolokhIlia @avihu28). The proposal allows miners to mine underutilized blocks in order to allow themselves to later mine larger-than-typical blocks. This feature can exist within a DAGKNIGHT-powered consensus engine only, due to its unique adaptability to varying block latency. We (=@MichaelSuttonIL @coderofstuff_ et al.) will soon complete the Crescendo upgrade, at which point we'll significantly speed up DK development. - As a side note, I am fully aware that many community members are feeling the drag of the bearish and plateaued crypto market. I cannot promise if or rather when the crypto market will regain momentum, I can only share that core kaspa is really kicking it, we are e-meeting daily, writing code, actually building the stack, applied-researching, and during coffee breaks even brainstorming degen adoption strategies :/ Link to follow some of the R&D activity on TG: t.me/kasparnd One ironic dissonance is that builders across crypto tend to enjoy a red quiet market, it's much more conducive to grinding on later-to-be celebrated breakthroughs. We are fully invested in the project, and I hope this is taken as a token of simple commitment rather than as fin. advice, since we aren't yet the puppet master of the crypto arena. - Anyways, here's a link to the post: research.kas.pa/t/a-proposal…
