The government bailed out the banks after the financial crash in 2009. They should do the same with pubs, restaurants, hotels, sports and leisure clubs, theatres, cinemas, supply chains etc. The banks were bailed out. So should our local businesses. Please retweet if you agree.

Milk: officially now cheaper than water, if you buy it from @Tesco anyway. When you think about what has gone into producing milk - by the farmers, the cows, the land, the environment - it seems something close to criminal to sell it for less than spring water. – at Lambeth, London

Depends on how its conducted and who judges. I participated in judging a competition with 60 judges, so even if some people are off their game, spread out over that many gives a more accurate assessment. I learned too, judges were rated against the overall scores given.

Two Latin words for a star or constellation: 'aster' and 'sidus'. They glimmer across English: disaster: an ill-starred event. asterisk: a little star. astronaut: a star-sailor. consider: to observe the stars. desire: to wish upon a star.

Nothing highlights how awful noe-con or libertarian thinking is (when it comes to farming and food) as actually letting them explain their views They literally don’t understand the basics or don’t care to know the basics - it’s just a lot of cobbled together 1980s cliches

My parents are bee keepers. They sent me this photo from a fellow French bee keeper who didn’t put the frames in his hive. This is the magic the bees created by themselves 🐝 #bees #nature – at Falmouth, England

In the US, 80% of all antibiotics sold are for use in animal agriculture. This is the true cost of factory farming where more and more antibiotics are used to mask ever-increasing health problems in animals raised in intensively farmed environments. yorkshirebylines.co.uk/chlor…

Letter in the Times today from farmer in Rutland capturing the realities of what is going to happen to British food standards. Our food will be downgraded and absence of labelling means you won’t know what you’re eating. Grim.
