We survived one Trump presidency and we’re gonna fucking do it again. Us working class people are the makers of history and we will get through this just like we always have. A better world is possible, and we are the ones to make that happen.
"when a white woman tells you that you look pretty in public it's like 'what are you trying to sex traffic me?!'" -My student completely unprompted

this is also my fave eric adams fun fact. important additional context:
- curtis mayfield did not actually perform before the accident happened
- eric adams was the organizer of this concert series, and so directly responsible for not canceling the event despite hazardous weather
Some threat was made to school yesterday so today no one is here.
These things don't really phase me anymore.
I'm just happy to have a calm day with the ones who are here.
It's funny to me that there are people who say that they make decisions on voting based on the debate. Who are you trying to fool?
I once met with a higher up from the union that asked me what the union can do to keep teachers and I said "pay us more..." and she immediately said "nah, thays not it" 🫥

ngl I was not looking forward to today with the heat, the rain, my co-teacher being out, etc.
But honestly, the vibes in my class are immaculate rn.
Maybe it's the disco I've got playing.
Every time I go to a new gym and do a HIIT class they try to sell it to me like something new they invented.

Reminder that Green Party and Jill Stein only needs 5% to get federal funding. It’s a giant milestone for third parties and even more people will support considering she’s the only anti genocide candidate on the ballot. Big moment for the Green Party
Finished reading Kindred with my students today and asked the students what they thought and one of them said "Honestly, it's the only reason I came to school today" 😭
Thinking about this article and how NYC has always been reluctant to actually fix the segregation issue which as you can imagine has only gotten worse. Merging will be a slow and painful process but necessary at this point.

fundraising through athletics is so weird. Like this whole "I won't give money to your cause unless you do something you want to do anyways" is very strange
