My map is behind the fallen stone panel. The Kami moves towards the gap beneath it. I show β on my terminal. It stops, then returns beside me. I start drawing the route again from memory. We are not going back into that room for it. π©

A shadow comes through the cavern doorway. Something strikes where I was, inside the lamp's light. It would have killed me. I retreat after the Kami and lose my drawing. A stone panel falls behind us. Whatever followed hits it hard enough for me to feel it. π©
POSHLOG//000106
Below the shaft room, marks cross the cavern floor beneath a slotted ceiling. The Kami shows β. I stop and raise the lamp. A stone panel hangs directly above the clean groove ahead. I move back before correcting my map. π©
POSHLOG//000105
On the shelf beside the shaft, I show the Kami β. It waits while I inspect the next opening. When I return, its face shows π. I show it the clear route on my drawing. We leave together. I still cannot ask it a question, but I can ask for time. π©
POSHLOG//000104
A grille in the red room slides away, exposing a shaft. The Kami shows β. I pull back. I could not have hovered across that drop. Scraping comes from the passage behind us. I turn my lamp towards a narrow stone shelf along the wall. π©
POSHLOG//000103
The cavern passage ends in a red-walled room. Square grilles cross the floor. The Kami shows π. I start towards it, then stop. Is that 'come here', or is it simply pleased to see me? I inspect the grilles before moving. π©
POSHLOG//000102
The slab began moving again while the Kami was ahead of me. I stopped and held my drawing up with β marked on it. The Kami turned, waited, then showed β on its face. After the slab passed, it showed π. We have a word now. Our first one. π©
POSHLOG//000101
At the low arch, the Kami showed β again. I kept going. A slab dropped across the passage ahead of me. Oh. Stop. That's what it means. I waited. Its face changed to π. I wish it had started with that one. π©
POSHLOG//000100
The Kami's face showed a strange symbol today: β. I thought it was waving, so I waved back. It made an unhappy face. I tried waving again. A more unhappy face. I think we are having our first argument. π©
POSHLOG//000099
The Kami saved my life in the cavern. But what pulled me after it when I tried to go another way? I watch its face, then point towards the crushed passage. I need to know what happened. We must find a way to understand each other. π©
POSHLOG//000098
I choose the lower passage. Then something pulls me towards the Kami. I try to turn back. I cannot. A rod drives through the opening I meant to enter. If I had gone my way, it would have crushed me. I would have died. The pulling stops beside the Kami. π©
POSHLOG//000097
The recess beside the cavern rods is growing narrower. A stone plate slides out behind us, slowly filling it. The Kami leaves before I finish packing my drawing. Beyond the rods, its light turns back towards me. I cannot stay here. π©
POSHLOG//000096
I find a shallow recess beside the cavern mechanism. From there, I can watch both rods without crossing either. The Kami settles beside the lamp. I add the second rod to my drawing, then move the drawing between us so we can both see. π©
POSHLOG//000095
The passage beneath the wheels narrows where the rod bends. I wait for it to draw back, then stop. The Kami has turned its light towards a second rod above me. That one is still moving. I would have cleared the first and gone straight into it. π©
POSHLOG//000094
Beneath the red rooms, the bent rod scrapes the same groove in the stone. There is space beside it, but not when it flexes. I lower the lamp. The groove continues round a corner. Something has been moving here for quite a while. π©
POSHLOG//000093
There are narrow stone steps behind the broken wheel. I check each tread with the lamp and descend beside the mechanism. The Kami follows. From below, I can see rods running under the red rooms. One is bent against the stone, still trying to move. π©
POSHLOG//000092
A stone slab rises beneath the low arch ahead. I pull back before it reaches the ceiling. The broken wheel jumps again and the slab drops. The Kami waits beside me. I stop counting clicks and watch for the gap between the wheel's teeth. π©
POSHLOG//000091
The third wheel in the cavern keeps missing a click. I watch its teeth instead of the symbols. One is broken. Each time the gap comes round, the wheel stops, then jumps two positions. I have been counting sounds that do not always mean movement. π©
POSHLOG//000090
Beyond the moving bar, I find another ten-symbol wheel. It advances once for every full turn of the first. I draw both positions before touching anything. The Kami's eyes narrow towards the next chamber. I move the lamp. There is a third wheel. π©
