Rachmaninoff’s Third Piano Concerto is no joke: the piano score alone has about 29,600 notes. Want to hear the first 188? 🎹✨
A month after we welcomed the new season together, Karen Gomyo and Semyon Bychkov are back. 🌟
In three concerts, we will be playing music by three composers: Adams, Bruch and Musorgsky. Tune in to our YouTube channel on Thursday to hear it! bit.ly/Gomyo-Bychkov-Live
The 120th anniversary of Shostakovich's birth seems like the perfect day to listen to Maestro Bychkov talk about his love for the composer and his Seventh Symphony. 🙂
Martinů, Dvořák, Prokofiev, Stravinsky… and that's it for this year's Dvořák Prague Festival. Thanks go to Elim Chan and Gil Shaham for a wonderful closing concert! 💙
4–3–3 or 5/4? ⚽🎻 Head Coach Santi Denia and Chief Conductor Semyon Bychkov talk tactics backstage. In football and Shostakovich, timing is everything.
Returning to Stockholm and Helsinki after over half a century and getting to know the cities and their people was an amazing time.
Thank you to everyone who joined us along the way, and a big thank you to our global partner, PPF Group, for their continued support of our tours.
The nerves are building ahead of our opening concert. Luckily, we’re too busy to focus on them. We’ve got our hands full – of strings, brasses, woodwinds, percussion... 🙂
Just like that, our Swedish-Finnish tour with Semyon Bychkov, Karen Gomyo and Yunchan Lim has come to an end.
And we've come to a conclusion: we have to come back soon!
According to pianist Yunchan Lim, there is hardly anything left to chance in Ravel’s Piano Concerto. The score gives the performer detailed instructions on how to approach the piece.
We didn't leave anything to chance either: we're performing Ravel with Yunchan Lim!
Shostakovich’s First Violin Concerto is known for placing unusual technical, intellectual and emotional demands on its soloist. So naturally, you need to place it in the very best hands. The hands of Karen Gomyo. 🙂
Her name is Karen Gomyo, but you may also know her as "a first-rate artist of real musical command, vitality, brilliance and intensity", according to the reviews. 💙
We played Shostakovich's violin concerto together last night – but luckily for us, not for the last time!
Although he never reached ABBA-level fame, Sweden’s
best-known composer, Franz Berwald, does have a
concert hall named after him in Stockholm. And this is
what it looked like during today's rehearsal:
God morgon from Stockholm! ☀️ We’re back after 54 years, and the plan is clear: the Czech Phil Buss will take us to the dress rehearsal and then to our first-ever concert at the Berwaldhallen.
Our Open Air concert is streaming live now: bit.ly/Open-Air-ČF. Come watch! 🙂
