More than 500 Nelson Mandela Bay residents gathered at Gqeberha City Hall to demand accountability in the R25 million transformer lease scandal.
The DA is taking action in the High Court to hold Mayor Babalwa Lobishe and former Acting City Manager Ted Pillay personally liable for any unlawful expenditure linked to the deal.
Public money must be protected, and every cent unlawfully spent must be recovered. Nelson Mandela Bay deserves transparency, accountability and a municipality that works for all! ๐

๐ป Investing in the future of Northern Areas learners!
DA Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Solly Malatsi, has handed over cyber labs at Fontein Primary School and Soutpan Primary School in Nelson Mandela Bay, following a request made by DA Eastern Cape Provincial Chairperson Yusuf Cassim MP in 2025.
These cyber labs will give learners access to computers and essential digital skills, helping them build the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world.
The DA believes every learner deserves access to opportunities that can unlock their potential, regardless of where they grow up. Investing in digital education means investing in our children, their futures, and a stronger South Africa.

๐๐๐๐๐!
You spoke; we listened. Now itโs time to show you what is possible.
For the past 18 months, we've been out in our communities, engaging with residents, listening to your concerns and hearing your hopes for the future of Nelson Mandela Bay. From our residents to our youth and local businesses, one thing is clear: you want a metro that works.
We believe decisions about the future of our city shouldn't be made in a boardroom, disconnected from the people who live and work here. They should be shaped by the voices, experiences and aspirations of ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ of our communities.
๐ฅ Today, we present the DA's Vision 2031, a picture of what Nelson Mandela Bay could look like after five years of DA governance. A metro where service delivery takes priority. Where communities have opportunities to thrive. Where ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ replaces chaos, and where residents can believe in a better future.
But this future doesn't have to remain a vision. You have the power to make it a reality.
๐ณ๏ธ On 4 November, unite behind the DA get NMB working again because only the DA is big enough to beat the ANC in Nelson Mandela Bay, put an end to coalition chaos, and start delivering services for all.
Let's stop the chaos. Let's restore service delivery. Let's #getNMBworkingagain
