This shot got me emotional. Ultimate Battle 22 was one of the few Dragon Ball items I owned as a kid. I’d redraw the cover art and instruction manual art and play the hell out of it falling in love with the music but not the janky gameplay. Makes me feel all sorts of hurt. Toriyama really impacted all of us, and it’s heartwarming to see everyone so protective over his legacy.
Having thought about this and read more I think it was inevitable. Toriyama loved his peace he didn’t move to the big city like most mangaka. His studio was in a residential area, and many tourists do go and visit causing disruption to those living nearby. Toriyama would probably have approved of this too. My guess is they have taken all historical items into safe keeping and will build a replica somewhere proper for fans to visit and pay their respects. At the end of the day it seems to have been decided by the people Toriyama trusted including his family. Gotta think there must be some wisdom behind this decision.

A franchise worth billions came out of that building. Not one of the companies that got rich off it thought it was worth saving. Bandai and Shueisha once again proving they ain't shit.
