Today is my last day at @OpenStore. When I joined in 2022, it was a very intentional move - I had never worked in a venture backed startup before and I wanted to experience that up close.
3.5 years later, I can say without a doubt that it was quite the journey!
While the business didn’t fully play out as originally envisioned (turns out aggregating brands is really HARD), the experience was invaluable.
I grew as an operator, leader, and teammate and had the chance to work alongside some of the smartest, most creative people I’ve ever met.
There are too many people to thank individually, but to everyone who made my time here unforgettable - from colleagues to partners to friends - THANK YOU! You made the journey worth it.
As for what’s next, you know what they say...
Never gets old receiving these. Grateful for all the love and feedback from our customers who continue to validate what we're building at OuterSignal. More to do!

“40 Grammy-winning artists bought these headphones.”
Sure sounds better on your site than “someone in New York bought this yesterday.”
We just launched Verified by @getoutersignal, a new website badge that enables an entirely different level of social proof to e-commerce brands.
Digital social selling is obviously nothing new. Customer reviews, creator content, etc.
But what if you could show shoppers that people they trust or admire are already buying your products?
This is exactly what we’ve just built…
Verified by OuterSignal uses a brand’s verified customer data to identify notable groups of people who have purchased its products.
Then leverages the social capital of those groups to convert browsers into buyers.
Think professional athletes buying sneakers. Dermatologists buying skincare products. Grammy-winning artists buying headphones.
Factual purchase data showing shoppers that people with real credibility in the category trust what they’re looking at.
Maybe they see themselves within one of those groups. Or they aspire to one day join them.
But the point is, it’s a brand new form of social selling that has ever existed before.
Very excited to see the lift our brands drive with this!

Did anyone on your team notice?
Today we're launching the Influencers Board in @getoutersignal. It shows every customer with a real following on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or X, next to what they bought and what they spent.
It gives your influencer team one home base. You can:
→ See every creator who has bought from your brand
→ Filter by platform and follower count
→ View their content inside OuterSignal
→ Favorite creators and leave notes for your team
→ Move them through statuses in a Board, List, or Calendar view
→ Write and send personalized outreach without leaving OuterSignal (rolling out in beta)
The Influencers Board is included on every OuterSignal plan, free included.
Your next partnership might already be in your order history. Go find it...
I was 12 years old. Me and my brother went to bad at 8pm to convince our parents to let us get back up at 11 to watch. Great memories.
Wait, its actually insane that this game started at 8:09 PM local time, aka 11 PM in New York. #Mets

Asaf Rejuwan, one of the Israeli survivors of flight 1073 wrote on Facebook:
״I don't usually post on social media, but today I felt something burning deep inside me that I simply had to share.
Ever since the incident where the terrorist's attempt to hijack the Flydubai flight was thwarted, there has been a lot of coverage in the media, and I’ve been asked many times what factors I believe prevented the terrible disaster that could have befallen our people had that despicable terrorist succeeded in his plans.
Today, I think I received a very special and interesting answer to that question. Naturally, after the incident ended and we landed safely on the Land of Israel, I felt the need to thank many people... the passengers who cooperated, my lioness of a wife and all the mothers and fathers who protected their loved ones, the children who stayed composed, and every Israeli passenger on that plane.
Yesterday, I was part of a group of passengers interviewed for an international channel. As each passenger went into detail about how they experienced the flight, we realized something very important- something you only understand when the dust settles and you get into the small details during intimate conversations among yourselves.
We realized that every single passenger on that flight had a role, every passenger on the flight had a role.
One passenger was responsible for communicating with Israel's security services
I discovered there was a passenger on board who provided a mobile hotspot and made sure to share it with others
Another female passenger sat and recited Psalms
A passenger made sure to pass along headphone cords to tie up the terrorist
Passengers kept track of where we were going to land using GPS maps
An Australian passenger was the only one on the plane who could make calls back to Israel from an enemy country (Saudi Arabia)
And the list goes on... And, of course, the amazing Yaniv, the wonderful Tzvika and Tali, the hero Shota, the great man Or, and many other great friends who lent a hand.
I had no doubt that after such a great miracle, I would be attending synagogue on Saturday morning to recite the Birkat HaGomel (the prayer of thanking the God of Israel after a lifesaving miracle)
I am not a religious person. I believe in God in my own way, and I don't usually look for signs in everything. But today, something happened that completely astonished me. Completely by chance, today in the synagogue I read from Parashat Devarim (Deuteronomy 33:26):
"There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides the heavens to help you, and in His majesty rides the skies."
אֵין כָּאֵל יְשֻׁרוּן רֹכֵב שָׁמַיִם בְּעֶזְרֶךָ וּבְגַאֲוָתוֹ שְׁחָקִים
I read the verse, stopped, and got goosebumps, and so did all the other worshippers who knew the story and understood why I was there with them.
After everything that happened on that flight, after the fear, after the storming of the terrorist, and after realizing how thin the line between life and death really was- finding myself facing those exact words, "rides the heavens to help you," was a moment I can hardly explain.
I don't know if it was divine providence, a coincidence, or simply a moment that took on a profoundly deep meaning for me. But today, in the synagogue, as I recited Birkat HaGomel, I felt mainly one thing:
Thank you. Thank you for life. Thank you for the miracle. And thank you for the privilege to stand here and tell the story.
Am Yisrael Chai 🇮🇱״
When I joined @getoutersignal almost one year ago, I hoped we would build something that mattered. I didn't expect this much, this fast. Today, we're announcing our $22M Series A co-led by Long Journey Ventures and Abstract Ventures. I'm humbled by our customers' love of our product, in awe of our team, and grateful that I get to work on these hard problems with this exceptional group of people. Let's Go!! 🚀
Hockey, man.
My eyes were wet from start to finish. I thought of being little in a big world & watching my son's first tries at this mad game. ESPN's Open to the NHL season is beautiful. I didn't expect to cry today-this is stunning. There's nothing like this sport. We at ESPN love the sport as you do. ❤️ Enjoy.
This is exactly how I explain our personas. Every time.
Close to 15 years in this space and I've sat in that room more than once - a CEO or VC says "this is our customer," I've got data that says otherwise, and nobody has enough to settle it.
It's why our personas come from who actually buys, not from a deck or someone's gut.
Your target customer might not actually be your customer.
@orenmeetsworld, Partner at Darkroom Agency, sees brands make this mistake all the time:
“You’ve been in a room with a VC or your boss or a CEO who’s like, ‘This is our target demographic. This is who’s buying our product.’”
Except now marketers can actually check.
Oren recently worked with a beauty brand that had built its entire marketing strategy around Gen Z.
Gen Z content, influencers, and seeding.
Then they looked at the actual customer data.
The people buying were Gen X and Millennials.
“Women buying, wanting to be younger, wanting to be cool with a brand.”
And that changes the entire way you think about the marketing.
As Oren put it:
“Our marketing’s not wrong. We just were going to the wrong demographic.”
For years, brands built customer personas from surveys, assumptions and what executives thought their customers looked like.
But marketers don't have to guess anymore.
“We can now see the full funnel of how people get there.”

Next time a Met needs a late night ride in Hollywood, FL they can call me
Column: the #Mets will celebrate the 40th anniversary of their most recent champions this weekend. But for one ill-fated taxi ride 20 years ago this week, there’s every reason to believe there’d be another celebration for another champion due this year. nypost.com/2026/07/28/sports…
In the L30 days I’ve shipped 13 code contributions into production with as much coding experience as a toaster.
I’ve never written a single line of code IN MY LIFE.
But AI and our culture at @getoutersignal has completely changed what feels possible. Without Claude, I (or more accurately, my eng team) would have been staring down months of work (chased / nagged by me) before any of these features or requests made it live.
Now I (yeah, me) am able to get the ball rolling in minutes.
Normally you only see these GitHub charts posted when someone's flexing a screen full of green squares…(one day, maybe).
For now, I’m just happy and grateful to be on the board!
It is now almost the end of July. While there are two months of baseball still to be played, this disastrous Mets season is essentially over. Is this really how @HowieRose is sent off to retirement? Say it ain’t so Howie…one more year!
