Sources: This is a cool hire. @Pitt_BASE is expected to hire former #Pitt standout Jimmy Negrych as its new Recruiting/Scouting Coordinator, I'm told. Negrych has spent the last 9 years as the @Cardinals NE Scouting Supervisor. Will work with the INFs at Pitt.

Top 20 portal class ✍️🔥
Highest BB% in D1 baseball in the last 8 years. Walks are cool, pimp the walks.
No team had a higher walk rate in 2026 than @Pitt_BASE, who drew a 16.6 BB% that was almost a point and a half higher than the next team.
The Panthers are covered in my second installment breaking down the ACC's lineups as I continue my season in review.

Rud’s Buds is back @BaseballAmerica!
Ten undrafted free agent signings I loved. Five unsigned players teams should still pursue. Fifteen very in-depth scouting reports on the tools, traits and developmental bets hiding beyond the 20th round.

Lorenzo Carrier, who put together an All-American breakout season for @Pitt_BASE, goes in the 14th round to the Rockies.
.@Pitt_BASE outfielder Lorenzo Carrier is as dialed in at the plate right now as you can get. Caught up with him to discuss finally being healthy, offseason mechanical adjustments, and Pitt's "relentless" identity.

The @Yankees select David Leslie with the 278th pick in the 2026 MLB Draft ‼️

Was so much fun to watch Leslie & @Pitt_BASE at the ACC Tournament. He goes in the ninth round to the Yankees.
David Leslie is shoving for @Pitt_BASE. Has set down eight straight and has seven strikeouts to one walk through just under four innings of relief. Has allowed the Panthers to put up 10 unanswered, lead Louisville 15-5 in the sixth.

My advice to anyone in the portal or entering in the coming days looking for a place to develop and get better is to check the tape. These were some numbers for the four transfers who were in our lineup everyday.
