Our @TheAJNR study found positive studies occuring in ~1 in 10 patients with suspected SIH after a prior negative myelogram .

Interesting new insight in #MMAembolization for #cSDH:
Liquid embolic penetration into the skull bone was associated with higher hematoma resolution rates (P=0.005) and remained significant on multivariate analysis (P=0.038).
Could the skull–meninges–bone marrow axis be an overlooked player in cSDH biology?
Fascinating finding with potential implications for both technique and pathophysiology.

In this single-center retrospective study, the incidence and severity of rebound intracranial hypertension after transvenous embolization for CSF-venous fistulas causing SIH appeared to be 80%, with 54% of patients experiencing moderate-to-severe symptoms and 7.6% requiring therapeutic lumbar puncture. Treatment of a single fistula and higher preprocedural opening pressures were associated with an increased risk of more severe RIH and need for intervention.

Transverse Sinus Stenosis (TSS) is the narrowing of a major vein in the brain that helps drain blood from the head.
TSS is strongly linked to Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH).
