And now Twitter has to inform people that it doesn’t verify profile information, for example the “Carpenter” value set in the Company / Profession field.

You can no longer rely on the #verified icon next to a profile in a tweet, you need to click to open the profile (for every tween), and then you need to click again to see the verification reason. And if you use Twitter via the API, good luck..
