If you smoke a pack a day, Indiana's new cigarette tax will cost you $2 a day, $730 per year.
If you quit smoking, you'll save ~$10.70 per day, $3,905 per year.
Quitting is hard, but there's resources to help. Good for your health. Good for your wallet.

"Bray said the suspension of fuel taxes had left the state with an estimated $1.2 billion shortfall for road work."
Who could have seen that coming except literally everyone?
Senate Pro Tem @bray_rodric tells Greenwood Rotary the redistricting fight was one of the most challenging periods of his life, and he stands behind the Senate’s decision. Also: a $1.2B road shortfall, and Medicaid is now about 24% of the budget. indypolitics.org/bray-defend…
You'll also notice that Kyiv, which is hit almost daily by Russian kamikaze drones, is nowhere near the front lines of the war.
Because it's a terrorism operation.
Replying to @TheStudyofWar
2/ Russian forces have made effectively zero net gains in 2026 at the cost of over 40,000 casualties per month since July and around 458 casualties for every square kilometer of territory that Russian forces lost.
Cast my vote today. Several hundred people at Ivy Tech here in Fort Wayne casting ballots. More than I expected for a midterm.
I cast a nice mixed ballot. Voted no on the ballot questions and no on casino. Ballard. Mix of candidates in local races. Left a couple blank.
Go vote!
Didn't they already try (and fail) with this exact same thing with the Brenda Wilson/Alexandra Wilson thing in the Greg Goode primary?
The Trump administration has preemptively filed a lawsuit seeking to block certification of Alaska's US Senate election if the Republican incumbent Sen. Dan Sullivan loses in the state which could decide the balance of power in the Senate. cnn.it/4i52DPm
Also voting against Ballot Question 2 about local judges.
Every other elected is required to live within the jurisdiction they serve. I don't think this should be any exception.
Or, if you expand the boundry, they must also expand who can vote for it.

Pretty sure I'm voting against the bail amendment.
Bail is so foundational to the US the Founding Fathers put it in the Bill of Rights. Judges already have tools to address risk and the potential for this to be misapplied/overapplied feels high.

People: "Young people need to have more kids!"
Those same people: "I shouldn't have to pay property taxes for schools, only people who have kids should pay for it, making it significantly more expensive for them!"
Reminder: Renters pay property taxes, albeit indirectly.
They pay their rent, their landlord pays the property tax funded by that rent.
And, here in Indiana, since the tax cap on rentals is 2% as opposed to 1% for homesteads, renters can end up MORE tax than homeowners.
Because property taxes pay for the every day services that serve your home and community, in the same way you pay an electric and water and sewer bill.
So sick of this stupidity. We get it, you're old and you want to pass your expenses to younger generations. Again.
“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?”
Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century.

This isn't a 20-person presidential primary. It's four people.
Every candidate should be invited to participate @FOX59/@CBS4Indy indianacapitalchronicle.com/…
