NEW: More trees were cut at East Potomac than first reported. About 529 trees were cut at East Potomac Golf Links in a single day, according to a Justice Department email filed in court today. The figure given in court Monday was about 430. Plaintiffs say that number covered only one of two zones cut on Saturday. wusa9.com/article/tech/scien…

The way I unerstood it, even while still in 1.0 mode... LIV's plan was to somehow partner with a bunch of national opens for more playing opportunities. Those would be on Asian Tour along with national opens co-opted away from the DPWT. (Which naturally PO'd DPWT big time). LIV 2.0 continued to try, but PGAT/DPWT cut them off at the pass by partnering with Australian Open and Asian Tour. So I'm wondering if LIV has found someone else to do some co-santions with? (Which also would help mitigate some of their OWGR "pathways" issues)... But who knows at this point. 🤷‍♂️... I know @BobHarig and others are trying to get confirmation on the 17 thing... but apparently nobody has it yet (unless I've missed it).
Replying to @Robopz
17 seems unlikely to me unless they pulled off a miracle which I don't mind at all. A full schedule would better for the players.

“Player freedom is the reason LIV Golf was created …” Note: LIV was the only tour that made its events mandatory for players to participate in. Its definition of “freedom” isn’t the same as the dictionary’s.
LIV attorney Ryan Fitzgerald brings up the DP World Tour saying it won't allow LIV players next year. "We're continuing to monitor this situation very closely, and we're quite concerned by it, frankly," Fitzgerald said. "We're reserving all rights and remedies and respect to these statements that are made." "Frankly, the timing in particular strikes us as a clear attempt to interfere with our process, with our players, and potentially our reorganization writ large." "And it also raises a lot of the same anti-competitive concerns that LIV has expressed previously regarding the way competing leagues have sought to box out and punish market participants—namely these players—from participating and LIV and really only LIV." "Player freedom is the reason LIV Golf was created, and it's the foundation of LIV Golf 2.0. ... It's unfortunate that another tour is taking an opposite view and pressuring our players with a false choice. And again, we're reserving all rights in this respect."

LIV has never understood that its product — which requires players to compete in every event — is competing and interfering with other leagues. Other tours have every right to protect themselves by enforcing rules and restricting players from playing in competing events.

Also, the DPWT came to its recent change because LIV was trying to poach some of its events.

🚨🚨🚨 Per Financial Times, LIV 2.0 will have 17 tournaments in total for 2027. Quick pivot from DPWT interference. "As for the new LIV, BC has said both itself and partners will commit up to $300mn. The league is supposed to have 17 tournaments in total with 10 “signature” stops around the world. Goldthorpe has insisted that there are plenty of co-investors expressing interest in a golf league and a potential adjacent lifestyle brand." ft.com/content/09f24d32-9bc5…

Rory McIlroy speaks on LIV from the Bloomberg New Economy forum: “LIV had probably like, half of a good idea that was executed pretty poorly. They had a lot of capital, but I think a lot of that capital was wasted in some ways.”

Trump's D.C. Chainsaw Massacre: Over 500 Historic Trees Gutted to Build a Millionaire's Golf Course Donald Trump has begun actively destroying hundreds of trees in Washington, D.C., and the lack of mainstream coverage is absolutely criminal. Please scream this from the rooftops and spread the word immediately! These aren't dead, dying, or invasive trees — these are perfectly healthy, decades-old oak and maple trees that are being brutally clear-cut. This disturbing footage from Rick Maese at The Washington Post exposes the truth: the Trump administration is massacring upwards of 500 healthy, historic trees at the East Potomac Golf Course. But honestly, why are we surprised? This is just the latest chapter in Trump's complete and utter disregard for our nation's historic capital. It follows the exact same playbook as his shocking demolition of the White House East Wing, and the disastrous, botched "renovations" of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool that left an iconic American landmark falling apart and peeling. To make matters even more sickening, they've even been dumping toxic debris from the demolished East Wing right onto this very public parkland! The National Park Service is trying to gaslight the public by claiming this ecological disaster is just routine maintenance, but we know the truth: they are gutting public land to build a glitzy, exclusive championship golf course. Residents across the city are rightfully furious and disgusted. Witnessing 500+ majestic trees being ripped out of the ground is an absolute horror show for the people living in this city. Do not let them slide on this. Share this everywhere, expose this environmental atrocity, and follow for updates.

If this is what the Trump administration is doing to hundreds of perfectly healthy mature trees in Washington, D.C. in broad daylight, imagine what they're doing to our national forests, protected public lands, and the Arctic Refuge.

HAPPENING NOW: Judge Reyes is furious. She has repeatedly told the government to inform her before any major demolition work was done on the golf course. The abrupt removal of 500 trees, without notice, "has cost the government all of its credibility" in this case.

🚨 WE JUST WITNESSED THE DUMBEST PLAY IN NFL HISTORY. All Jayden Daniels has to do is throw the ball away. Or better yet…. You don’t have a timeout so just kick the Field Goal. The Giants had no time outs left…. Daniels lets the clock runout. The Commanders coaching staff lets the players fail. This is insane 👇 Who do you blame more? The coach or the players? 😱

Fire at the Reynolds Landing clubhouse at Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia. Locals telling me it may have started at an outdoor fireplace involving propane. Clubhouse appears to be a total loss.

Scottie struggles sometimes with finding the right perspective – he wasn't made available Saturday afternoon, and Sundays are also the day to encapsulate the entirety of the event, not just the birdies and bogeys of his singles match. Perfectly fair questions by Cara, and ones that everyone wanted to know the answers to.
Testy Scottie 😬😬😬
