The Greens want the government to block Australians from watching a planned US military firing squad execution livestream.
Why are our politicians so desperate to censor what adults can freely choose to see? For the record, I’m not interested, so I won’t watch it—simple.
Focus on child abuse material and people like Mr Bakit (out on bail despite allegations of distributing ISIS videos of executions, torture and propaganda) instead of treating adults like children who need protecting from reality.
If anything, Canada’s domestic picture is even worse than the disarray in our trade and investment files. Ottawa’s 2026-27 budget projects a staggering $78.3-billion deficit. No prudent national leader would put forward such a budget in these escalating inflationary times. To see a much-lauded former central banker do so is perplexing.

Episcopal priestess says Mary assigned Jesus male at birth, but he was trans. And when he was resurrected, he came back as His true, transgender self.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Mary did not assign a gender to Jesus. Mary was told before his birth that Jesus would be a male.
Luke 1:30-31 – "But the angel said to her, 'Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.'"

Glad to see the Legion standing tall for our fallen service men & women and all surviving veterans of war.
Unexpected but it certainly sent a shiver up my spine recording this.
A beautiful end of Summer day in the Okanagan.

A collapsing birth rate is not a green light for more migration. It’s an indictment of the country you’ve created.
Young Australians aren’t having kids because housing is wrecked and the cost of living is brutal.
Your answer is to import more people, drive rents higher, jam hospitals and schools, and call it a plan.
Migrants age too. This isn’t a fix. It’s a treadmill that never stops.
Stop replacing the population. Start making it possible for Australians to have families.

Airport privatization in Australia has led to significantly higher costs for passengers and airlines. Poor decision for Carney to follow suit.

Poilievre said Conservatives would cut taxes and slash $150B from PM Carney's planned spending, arguing less spending in Ottawa means more money in Canadians' pockets.

Accuse people of mass murder without proof and they fight back, how strange. Of course Natives take no responsibility for their decisions, many chose to send their children to residential schools. cbc.ca/news/indigenous/orang…
What have Somalis ever contributed to Canada?
🇨🇦🇸🇴 Today, I introduced a private member’s bill that would declare July of every year in Canada as Somali Heritage Month!
I’d like to thank MP @HonAhmedHussen for co-sponsoring this bill with me and for his counsel.
I hope that all MPs will support this legislation.
Canada is home to many Canadians of Somali heritage.
Canadians of Somali descent have left and continue to leave a historic mark on Canada, with contributions that span communities across the country and are reflected in Canada’s economic, political, social and cultural life.
If passed, Somali heritage month would give us an opportunity to celebrate that heritage, the role that Canada has played in supporting Somali Canadians and their contributions to Canada.
Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (one of Canada’s biggest oil producers) just paused a massive $8.25-billion oil sands expansion in Alberta, citing ongoing uncertainty around carbon pricing and government regulations.

Even with some recent deals, the industrial carbon tax and red tape continue to create hesitation for major projects — the exact kind of development that funds hospitals, roads, and services across Canada. We’re sitting on enormous reserves, yet we keep making it harder and more expensive to develop them responsibly while other countries happily take the business. Saskatchewan and Alberta producers see this every day. When will Ottawa stop punishing the industries that actually pay the bills?
No more home mail delivery, will our taxes go down if we are losing a service?
