Since Contreras is balling out in the Playoffs, I'm going to say this...
The trade for Murphy was a good trade to make when it happened. It made sense. It sucks that Murphy hasn't played up to his potential he could, because of injuries and just low performance. But he is still a good catcher.
Doesn't mean I can't wish we had Contreras for his offense
Sucks that the World Series last year was legit an all-timer, this is gonna seem "less than" even though it's an exciting series.
Really thought he was cooking with this. Just made himself look even more miserable than he seems lmao.

The trap question regarding Tony Gwynn is hilarious.
Do people genuinely believe analytics wouldn't like a guy who has a .388 OBP / 132 OPS+ ? Lol

One of my favorite recurring bits is when retired players who hate nerds and math and numbers suddenly become physics experts when explaining why the pitch measured 104 at the hand was actually 86 at the plate

This conversation is so annoying man
Tony Gwynn would be loved by analytics because got on base a ton, played great defense, and ran the bases well.
I’m sure this is just another attempt at the Luis Arraez talk that we really need to drop, he’s not Gwynn, they aren’t the same
I strongly disagree. I believe they need to juice the balls again like in 2019 to give the hitters a fair advantage to how far away pitching is in comparison.
