In youth sports (as in life), parents must be comfortable saying “no.” If you aren't comfortable saying no, find a coach who'll say no for you. If you have a coach who doesn't like you saying no, find a new team. You can't say yes to every team, tournament, showcase, or lesson.

Travel ball did it again. Another family paying $3,000 to have their kid on the B Team so they can then pay a few thousand bucks a weekend to travel out of state to play teams form the very state they just came from so that “college coaches” can see their 12 year old compete. I have a better idea. Take all that money, go to Vegas, go to the roulette table and put it all on black. You will thank me later.

Research shows that if coaches are overly critical and have a "negative appraisal" post-game, testosterone levels will drop and it will negatively impacts the next game performance.

Why does 'joysticking' coaching persist in youth sports despite all the education out there? 🚨This outdated approach - where coaches micromanage every move hurts young children. It’s not beneficial because it: 1. 🛑 Stifles creativity & decision-making skills. 2. 😟 Lowers confidence and increases anxiety. 3. 🏃‍♂️ Hinders long-term development. 4. 😔 Reduces fun, leading to burnout or quitting. Let’s prioritize player growth over control! ⚽⚾️🏀🏈🏒🎾 #YouthSports #Coaching

What if we taught hitters to evaluate at-bats like this: ✅ Did I execute my plan? ✅ Was I on time? ✅ Was I present in the moment? Instead of "Did I get a hit?"

Not only did Arman PR yesterday, he averaged higher than his old PR. 93-95 w/ all of the HB's and mid-upper 8's with the gyro slider. Now to see if he can back it up to hitters next week @Drew_Mount
Found new velocity ceiling yesterday in 100% effort velo ladder bullpen. Previous PR all time 93.8 before yesterday. New PR 95.6. Gearing up for Live AB’s starting next week and heading to @GoPaddleHeads for another season! @KpiMh @croooone

Bad baseball players stay bad because they’re not creative enough to picture a result that isn’t immediate; and they’re not dedicated enough to believe in and walk the long shitty road that one must travel everyday from Bad to Not Bad to Good.

It has come to our attention that the @SoftbalAmerica name has been associated with condoning early age group rankings (10u etc.) This is in fact the opposite of our structure & philosophy. We don’t believe in “ranking” athletes until they are at minimum prospect age.

No MLB pitcher has thrown >3IP yet, but high school arms threw complete games in FL this week. And, the HS kids will be playing fall ball four weeks after the World Series ends. The first "fix" for the injury epidemic is more about math and common sense than cutting-edge ideas.

We've got a youth sport crisis. 70% of kids quit sports by 13. 64% experience high levels of fear of failure. 60% report overwhelming pressure to perform Adults need to stop ruining sports. My manifesto on youth sports for parents and coaches. Link below.

If teenage athletes want to take a big step forward in development, it's wise to try to “out-sleep” and “out-eat” their peers. These two things are powerful "magnifiers" of everything they do in skill development and strength and conditioning.
