Yes, the entrenched nature of the tribalism was what struck me particularly during my brief stint. It will be interesting to see if Save the Parish disrupts that to any visible extent.

The low figures for "middle of the road" is precisely the problem. In fact, this is why no true "political engagement" (I don't mean party-political, but political in the purest sense) can take place in GS. We remain zero-sum, with no hope the synthetic.

An easy read. The figures seem to suggest that not much has changed in terms of the heterodox vs orthodox make up of synod. There are slightly more people claiming to sit on the fence than before. House of laity a bit less heterodox. House of clergy a bit more heterodox.
This from @AnglicanFutures is a bit different from other pieces on the @synod results- every election address together with as much information past and present from other sources was analysed to build-up a profile of each candidate & now member. Tis good! anglicanfutures.org/post/syn…

Anglicanism is evangelical, but not Nonconformist.
It is Protestant, but not Puritan.
It is catholic, but not Roman.
It is episcopal, but not papal.
It is not a new church invented at the Reformation. It is the ancient Church in England, reformed according to Holy Scripture and freed from the jurisdiction of Rome.
It has preserved the Creeds, the Scriptures, the Sacraments, the historic episcopate and the ancient worship of the Church, while rejecting doctrines and claims that cannot be proved from God’s Word.
Catholic and Reformed.
English and Apostolic.
Neither Roman nor Puritan 🏴

Charlie Bączyk-Bell persuaded the majority of the North Lambeth Deanery Synod that the overall unity of the Church of England requires greater inclusion for LGBTIQA+ people AND no alternative episcopal oversight for those who disagree. What happens next? anglicanfutures.org/post/rev…
Nothing much ever changes with the revisionist approach in the @churchofengland- 'unity' means everyone accepting that truth is plural i.e. everyone being revisionist. Really good from @AnglicanFutures
