Here's my take of the day:
The Mongol Empire took over a large part of the known world, partly because they created the first analog to the assault rifle.
The shorter composite Mongol bow sacrificed raw power in exchange for portability and rate of fire.
With the recent NFA happenings, I think it's time to think about this a little more seriously.
I already have a rigid kydex holster that comes off of the belt very quickly via Safariland QLS. If that holster had a QD adapter that would let me quickly clamp it on to the butt-end 1913 rail of this:
