Cool to see Adam Pardy on the broadcast. I interviewed him when he was a @CBEHockey One of his friends called his cell phone when we were on live tv. He turned a shade of crimson. Good memory.

Watching/listening to 85 year-old Lou Nanne work the Wild telecast tonight. The term 'legend' is thrown around a little too liberally for me these days....but not in this case. A hockey lifer!
October 5th....I always thought it cool that my favorite player, Mario Lemieux and Patrick Roy were born on this day in the same province in 1965.
Pretty good day for hockey in Quebec!
Wish I had this on Blu Ray

🏒 LANCE ET COMPTE / HE SHOOTS, HE SCORES
In 1986, Canadian television viewers were introduced to the National de Québec — a fictional NHL team whose players, rivalries and off-ice lives often felt remarkably real.
At the centre of it all was young Pierre Lambert, played by Carl Marotte.
Lambert arrives as a highly touted rookie and quickly begins making a name for himself.
But already occupying the spotlight is Marc Gagnon, played by Marc Messier — the National’s aging superstar, an idol in Quebec and a veteran approaching the end of his playing career.
Young star versus old star.
And the rivalry between them became one of the great storylines of the original series.
As Lambert’s star rises, tensions with Gagnon grow. Their clashes aren’t confined to the ice, either. Things become even more personal when Gagnon begins seeing Pierre’s younger sister, Suzie, played by Marina Orsini.
It was hockey drama before, during and after the game.
Created by Réjean Tremblay and Louis Caron, the series debuted in 1986 as LANCE ET COMPTE on Radio-Canada, while English-speaking viewers also came to know the story as HE SHOOTS, HE SCORES on CBC.
The fictional National even looked suspiciously familiar to hockey fans — its blue, white and red world unmistakably evoking the Quebec Nordiques.
What began with a rookie trying to make the National grew into one of Quebec television’s most enduring franchises, eventually spanning numerous seasons, television movies and a feature film.
But for many viewers, it was those early years — Pierre Lambert, Marc Gagnon, Jacques Mercier, Suzie, Ginette and the National de Québec — that remain unforgettable.
Do you remember watching LANCE ET COMPTE or HE SHOOTS, HE SCORES?
And whose side were you on — Pierre Lambert or Marc Gagnon?

This is an excellent read. It is unacceptable that this simulcasting trend is growing in the NHL.
