Today the Infected Blood Inquiry published its report on the government's handling of compensation in the last 12 months. It contains solutions to some serious flaws in the Infected Blood Compensation Scheme. Now the government must act. infectedbloodinquiry.org.uk/…

Save the NHS STOP immigration. My country is being filled with WTF and I hate having to sit on the floor with my child in A&E area full of oversized immigrant families. It makes no sense to fill this kingdom with lazy alien culture. #savethenhs @SaveTheNHS #save uk @govuk

While the British are justifiably set for billions in compensation, the Australian victims of the global #InfectedBloodScandal are to receive nothing at all. Why? Because we are Australians and therefore our government has less reason to help us. And that’s because now we are under the #WHOPandemicTreaty Australians are marked as test subjects. As Guinea pigs. And as a result we are all β€œmarked for death”. "Unlikely hero of the infected blood scandal" ⁦@guardian⁩ For many infected blood victims they see the author of the public inquiry’s damning final report, Sir Brian Langstaff as a hero. πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ theguardian.com/uk-news/arti…

Lord Kenneth Clarke, who served as the minister of state at the Department of Health between 1982 and 1985 and as the health secretary between 1989 and 1990, has been heavily criticized by the Infected Blood Inquiry for his role in the infected blood scandal. The inquiry found that the government, under his leadership, knowingly exposed thousands of people to "unacceptable" risks of HIV and hepatitis C through contaminated blood products and transfusions between 1970 and 1991. Lord Clarke was described as "blasΓ©" in his response to the inquiry about the collection of blood from prisons in the US as late as 1983. He was also criticized for his handling of the situation and for not taking sufficient action to prevent the spread of infections. The inquiry concluded that the government failed to make patient safety paramount in decision-making and did not do enough to stop importing blood products from abroad, continuing to source blood donations from high-risk populations in the UK too, such as prisoners until 1986. The inquiry's final report pointed the finger at politicians, doctors, and civil servants for a chilling cover-up of the scandal that led to the deaths and suffering that continue to this day. Lord Clarke's role in the scandal has been highlighted as part of this cover-up, with the report stating that the government and the NHS were directly accused of a "defensive closing of ranks." In response to the inquiry's findings, the UK government has recently announced a Β£10 billion compensation package for the thousands of victims affected by the infected blood scandal. This is a significant sum, but it can never truly make up for the pain and loss experienced by the victims and their loved ones. #GodMorningTuesday #hiv #blood #scandal

I can't bear to look at this man. His blatant contempt for people like my dad who died due to Contaminated Blood products is truly sickening. Why have no criminal charges been brought against people? They knew. They lied and people DIED! It's in the damn report for all to see. – at New Farnley, England

So years of jobs for civil service moving to IBCA positions costing millions and millions of pounds rather than a fixed amount of Β£2million to every infected (including deceased infected) this a set amount to all affected and an extra payment for coinfected/research this year

β—οΈπŸ—£Infected Blood Scandal: "We want his support, his justice. Let’s have it, Mr Prime Minister." πŸ”΄Nigel Hamilton, from County Antrim, is among the victims of the infected blood scandal. He joined other victims and campaigners in delivering a letter to 10 Downing Street on the anniversary of the landmark report into the scandal. More than 30,000 people across the UK were infected with HIV and hepatitis C after receiving contaminated blood and blood products between the 1970s and early 1990s. @GeorgieProRadio spoke to Mr Hamilton in London.

There is little point to long winded and expensive government inquiries unless at the end of them the likes of Ken Clarke and Paula Vennels are prosecuted and, if found guilty, imprisoned. Losing your gong is not good enough. telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/05…
